Yeah. The Moderate Progressive tweets were kinda baiting out the gun control counterpoint.

The image Bum just posted was the response back to that counterpoint, done in the same style as Hillary's campaign's counterpoint.

I still support Bernie more than anyone else, and I don't like Hillary because she's just a pandering, status quo Dem who is just going to be cockblocked by the Repubs as hard as anyone else, but I feel like Bum is kinda getting off base by assuming that Hillary is right of Obama and will instantly turn into a baby eating warmonger the moment she gets into office.

It's not my assumption, it's a fact that she is to the right of Obama, even if it isn't by any huge measure, the point still stands. Who knows what she'll want to do in regards to FP, the same goes for Bernie. With Hillary it is a guarantee that situations will worsen, more countries will be bombed, the potential for a new Cold War a real concern. For Bernie, the uncertainty is in how much he will challenge the MIC, not expand it.

The cynical answer would be "nothing but more suffering and imperialistic policy-making", but the optimistic thread to hold onto at this point is to hope that Bernie will stop funding apartheid, scale-back the drone campaign, protect whistleblowers, close down Guantanamo, black sites, etc. as a start. I'm not naive, though, I expect only symbolic gestures, not real change to happen with FP. I support Bernie purely on his potential for domestic change and the level of public involvement in politics that Obama exploited and never developed.

On a side note, Coates goes hard after Bernie Sanders for being phony. His argument is that it at least makes sense for HRC not to support reparations given her politics, but Bernie avoids the topic just because he knows it's political suicide even though it accords with all his political positions (i.e. he's a, gasp, politician)

Or maybe Bernie avoids the topic because it would be an enormous waste of money when the largest problems that reparations would "solve" are equally or better solved by ensuring that workers are paid fair, living wages.

True, and exactly why I used sarcasm quotes with solving problems. I was trying to avoid talking about how ridiculous the very concept of reparations is, because it's utterly, dumbfoundingly retarded, and that becomes the focus of the conversation instead of the fact that we can fix a lot of problems in the black community while also helping out people in every other racial group at the same time that are equally fucked by the free reign of unfettered Capitalism.
