Jeb is having the best week ever
Dunno guys, the most moderate republican they could find last time for the nomination was a corporate Mormon. I don't have much "Faith" for them to find someone so well rounded next time around. Jeb is probably their best bet, but are Americans so eager to vote for another Bush? Less the Fox pundits, everyone else things he's been one of the most damaging presidencies in modern history.
his brother's legacy is undoubtedly his biggest detriment
Just like Obama is for any Dem. Shit doesn't really matter to most average american. They attach whatever image they want to whomever.
I fully support vaccinations being optional. Just don't expect your child to be allowed into any public school or to not be required to stay away for 21-30 days if told to do so.
If people want to be fucking idiots, let them.
Only proves that half the Americans in this country are completely retarded and will choose to vote with a partisan mindset over voting for the better man. Even if it was slow to action Obama was clearly the better man for these 8 years and the country was better for him being in office.
Jeb Bush is the GOPs best bet, and the further he moves away from from the GOP base and the Tea Party, the better he looks. He has that Bush money, so it's not like he needs a Tea Party based Super PAC.
This is the same for both sides. I'd say somewhere between 70-80% of Americans will vote D or R no matter who is on the ballot for either side.
As far as Jeb goes, as stated earlier, he was a really good governor for FL. So if he is middle ground as he was for the state then he would probably do a good job overall as Pres. But we'll have to wait and see where he stands now on issues.
Um, no. I understand the idea of giving people the choice, but that's silly. At that point it doesn't become an option, you're still coercing them. The solution, then, is to say "You have to get your kids vaccinated. If you don't, they cannot attend public schools, parks, or state/federal funded attractions and will be required to submit to quarantine if they develop symptoms of an infectious disease".
You can cry about overreach as much as you want. I'm not watching my children get sick because they haven't reached the age of a particular vaccination yet and someone else's child is rife with disease.
I believe it's the civic duty of ALL citizens to be responsible when it comes to vaccinations, and if that means passing laws that say "Sorry, you can't dodge these ones" then so be it.
It's time we stopped living in the stone age and started living in the modern ages. Enough of this autism bullshit, dystonia, and anything else that was proven to be a hoax/bag of lies. There is NO reason not to vaccinate your child, unless for some reason they are born with some sort of immunodeficiency or auto-immune disorder.
None.
Or are allergic to a particular vaccine.
Or had other immune-compromising medical conditions or treatments in their lives.
Any candidate that supports vaccines being optional is right out in my book, regardless of anything else. I've watched two people very close to me go through cancer treatment, and there is absolutely no reason they should be exposed to preventable diseases that can kill them just because you want a choice. How anyone can want to go back to worrying about birth defects (rubella), polio, etc is completely beyond me.
Or those, yea.
You could just say medical exemptions only.
Laying out why anti-vaxxers and their appeasers are fucking retarded is somewhat outside the scope of this thread. Stick to election-related stuff. Like how being an anti-vax appeaser is a non-starter, that sort of thing.
I can't wait to carry Vaccination ID cards for my kids when we go anywhere. Ever. "I know I have that Smallpox card in here somewhere...."
(on topic - probably voting 3rd party again and pray for that 5%)

Jim Messina, Obama's 2012 campaign manager, “[T]he guy that we were always most afraid of was Jon Huntsman, the governor of Utah, who I think would be a smashingly great general election candidate. However he noted the Republican Party’s conservative tilt meant “I have the same chance he does of getting the Republican nomination for president.”
It's definitely true, and pretty sad. Over the years (10), I've slowly moved from staunch Democrat to liberal-minded Independent, and been much better off because of it.
Viewing the entire playing field lends itself towards being a much better American overall, I believe. We definitely need to share a conservative mindset when it comes to government spending and overreach, while at the same time push for a more liberal agenda where it benefits citizens most (as FDR once stated, it's the government's duty to use it's power and resources to meet the new problems that citizens find as individuals). That's neither here nor there however, people are stupid and don't dig deep enough.

However, I cannot agree with people being given a choice for vaccination. There's no reason why people SHOULD NOT be giving their children and themselves vaccinations when they have been proven highly effective and only detrimental to those allergic to them.
Don't entirely agree here, however there is a public health line somewhere that gets crossed. Should these children be allowed in public schools? What about home school, but public sports programs? I'm not comfortable forcing a parent to give their children a medicine they don't want them to have, but neither am I comfortable allowing that same child to be around other children they might infect. Or me quite frankly, as an adult, when they grow up.
Also this isn't the thread for this, since I just remembered there is a vaccine thread. Don't want to derail.
Medical Ethics practically demands that you give the patient a choice but do your best to get them to pick what they need to do for their own good.
Look at it this way. Much like you wouldn't let you child stick their head in a heated oven you wouldn't let them cry until you allowed them to do it, would you?
You can't just let people be irresponsible with things like this because choice.
