they can investigate my company all they want, investigating me is a bit different since it generates no PR and is just intrusive, but sure.

i'm fairly confident 99% of business owners(the 1% will probably be red neck gun-shop owners) would agree that if you have nothing to hide that you should welcome an investigation.

this isn't being 16 and quoting your Miranda rights when you get pulled over on the side of the road because you were going 5 over.

Yeah, this isn't how freedom and privacy work. You have the right to not be fucking bothered without proper evidence.

haven't followed the whole planned parenthood thing but why not let them investigate? if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to hide, any company should always be willing to open up to any type of investigation especially to squash any negative PR.. this is simple logic for anyone with any business knowledge.
You live in a fantasy world bro. Tell you what, you can investigate me all you want, but if you don't find what you're looking for I get to sue you for wasting me time, resources, and the negative publicity surrounding the investigation. Fair?

yeah that's fair but unfortunately that isn't how this works and that isn't how any business owner should operate, especially one cashing in dat sweet federal grant money. your best bet if you want to succeed is always be open and compliant unless you're doing something wrong.

maybe this isn't clicking for the people who think they shouldn't be investigated, but if they really have nothing to hide the best way to squash this whole debacle would be an investigation. this is relatively simple business logic and not that hard to follow.

how does an investigation waste your resources and give you negative publicity? also i have no idea where you work but any company of this magnitude has people that are paid specifically to deal with this type of thing (law enforcement)?

oh well, i don't even care what planned parenthood does with fetal tissue, trash is trash. but the amount of white knight for this company is insane from online boards right now, simply put if you have nothing to hide you should welcome an investigation, surely the "negative PR" from it can't be worse than what is already going around.

I guarantee you that the business logic is not on your side. Cooperating doesn't come at zero cost. They're losing time and resources during the investigation. Not only does it not make business sense, but it doesn't make moral sense. This is going to distract them from doing what they're supposed to be doing - helping people. There is no logic in which submitting to a baseless witchhunt makes sense. Take your McCarthyism of "nothing to hide" elsewhere.

What they should be investigating is the team that secretly videotaped a conversation while impersonating a CEO of an organ procrement company using fake California ID cards. Forgery, Fraud, identity theft are federal crimes. You'd also have perjury associated with the used of fake IDs. The group that orchestrated this shit is a fucking disgrace to women's health and is harming preventative health for low income women across America. The fact you think PP should be open to investigation because of a highly edited tape is despicable.

i assure you they are losing more time and resources dealing with the negative press than they would with an investigation. don't post baseless claims that you have 0 proof of.

the fact that you bring up the group that made the videos and how they should be arrested is exactly what i'm talking about, white knight idiocy. sure they should. that is incredibly obvious and stupid to point out, but that has nothing to do with planned parenthood being discussed and that they should welcome an investigation. thinking otherwise is "despicable"

You honestly can't connect how being investigated by the police might give a company negative publicity?

i'm going to repeat myself since i know as an internet user that ADD is becoming more common. the negative publicity associated with an investigation is a lot less(especially if you have nothing to hide) than the claims that are going around by the republican party. if you "honestly can't connect" that then i'm not quite sure what to say.

if tomorrow there was a big article/story on MSNBC and the other related news stations (i don't watch televised news) that planned parenthood agreed to be investigated and they were found not guilty of anything the claims would be more baseless than they already are. you'd still have some crazies on the far right screaming that they didn't look into it enough or some shit but in general it would look bad for the republicans who got so upset about it in the first place in the eyes of the general populace. again this is extremely easy to follow. 'murica and "THIS MY FUKN PRIVACY" has a place and a time but this isn't it, especially for a federally funded company, i'm sorry.

What you're proposing is something that could open the door to anyone making false claims about any company and that company should open their doors to investigation. Fuck. No. Just because someone breaks several federal laws to make baseless accusations about the way you do business does not mean you should have feel pressured to give a single inch to a federal investigation. The thought is absolutely

i guarantee you that completely private companies have been and will be investigated on a lot less.

i can also completely guarantee you that without an investigation, groups like the group that you're crying about will continue to try and catch planned parenthood "riding dirty."

an investigation is in their best interest unless they have shit to hide, it's real simple.

Also, I should note, that a congressional committee has announced an inquiry as well as eight states. I can't imagine how many millions of dollars of taxpayer money that could otherwise be used for...I don't know...women's preventive health are being siphoned through these sham investigations that would have never happened had a few people not broken several federal laws and edited a video to fool a group of protestors that hold incredibly deep-seeded beliefs.

No, it's not, because as you said, these groups won't stop. Even if PP was completely exonerated tomorrow, next month it'll be something else. Then next month. Then next year. Are they do open their doors to excessive intrusions by federal investigators every time someone levies a claim? Absolutely not.

true, and you know the 6-7 billion that went into the 08 election? that could have been used to curb world hunger for half a year. will be interesting to see if there's an investigation and how much it ends up costing as your numbs are severely off but yeah.

i realize you're so conceited that you think that everyone that has a different view from you is crazy, but uh.. if they were found completely not guilty tomorrow this would lose a lot of steam, if you think otherwise you seriously have some issues to work out or you should just become a hermit because you have no faith in anyone but people who agree with you on everything. people would still be against abortions yes, as it's in their religion. please go look at any other example of things like this that have been proven not to be true

You think an investigation from 8 states and the federal government won't cost north of a million dollars in total? Really?

Remember when Hillary Clinton was investigated about Benghazi and then when the Republican led committee determined she did nothing wrong, everyone respected the findings and stopped smearing her with unfounded accusations?

Oh wait, actually the investigation was a witch-hunt circus intended only to damage her credibility and the results were completely ignored.

Why wouldn't Planned Parenthood want that?

That being said, I know they have nothing on "baby parts selling" but is the new video about altering abortion techniques to preserve certain tissues for donation (and is that legal?) I haven't seen it.

And the government spent at least 20 million (that we know of) to run that investigation. Almost 6 million for the committee alone. Another 14 million was wasted by the IRS for fucking costs associated with document requests. And 8 states plus the federal government can't surpass a million investigating planned parenthood? Yeah...

so are you arguing for me or against me because technically you already shot yourself in the foot as you're claiming that the damage has already been done with this "witch-hunt" and that an investigation would do nothing? also individuals =/= companies, as stated before. comparing the two is asinine when it comes to being investigated.

it's not the same when someone goes into your federally funded office and pokes around as when they come home to your personal PC.
