I can't recall. But it was literally four years ago there was a huge push to defund PP. People believed they were using taxpayer dollars for abortions. Anyway, everything was bullshit and the buzz died down. Now it's a ridiculous videotape. Again, calls for defunding and mass protests. It's happened with abortion providers since Roe v Wade and it'll continue to happen for eternity. Planned Parenthood has zero incentive to open their doors when something else will happen next year and people like you will be there to call on them to open their doors for investigations. It's cyclical. It's a complete was of time and money until something concrete is presented.

i'm logical enough to know that an investigation is in their best interest, i personally don't care what they find with the investigation. i don't use any of planned parenthoods services and have no plans to. i'm smart enough to use contraception and am lucky enough to be able to afford it. i'm also not a woman so that helps in regards to everything else. whatever happens with them has 0 impact on me so i'm relatively unbiased is what i'm getting at. with that being said i think they do offer a valuable service and it'd be a shame to see them defunded, i highly doubt they have anything to hide. i know several states because of what you're talking about did stop funding them though including the one i live in (iowa).

assuming they have nothing to hide, an investigation would end the "buzz" that's going around right now, if you can't agree with that then whatever. it's baseless to say one way or another but generally when a company is found not guilty of something people tend to believe they are not guilty.

you also have to keep in mind that the general public is not educated enough to dive deep into things, they just watch a video or two (fox news) or watch a video or two (msnbc) and formulate their opinions based off that. if they were found not guilty there would stop being chatter about this and the people who are far left of far right would stop crying and the 90% somewhere in the middle would assume all is well.

Well, it wouldn't end the buzz, but it would curb a large part. And yet there would still be a vitriolic contingent still calling for defunding them because they think they can overturn Roe v Wade by screaming at girls walking into clinics. So yeah, a large part of the buzz would die. Then in a couple of years something would flare up that will invite investigation. And since PP obliged the first time, why not oblige this time? And the next time. And the next time. As I said, and as you fail to understand, the call to investigate PP is cyclical. It doesn't matter if they're cleared 99 times. "Maybe we'll finally find something this time" will be the mindset, as it has since the 70's. You're looking at a very small part of a very big picture that's been going on for decades. To give these bottomfeeders what they want simply because they broke enough laws to generate some hyped up buzz on a bullshit video is just opening yourself up for these people to continue to push, poke, and prod. It boggles my mind how you cannot understand this.
