In a brilliant response to Trump saying that Perry isn't tough enough to be PoTUS, Perry challenges Trump to a pullup contest seemingly ignoring the fact that he also got called too stupid for the job. He also remarked that Trump is a "cancer on Conservatism"

Speaking of Trump, as much as I want a shit show on August 6th from him as the next guy, I have this sneaking feeling that Trump will get trumped (hue hue) if he goes head to head with Bush in the debate. Bush has been personally off and on the trail hitting the books and advisers up. I seriously can't wait to hear his talking points directed at the man.

I would also be pleasantly surprised if John Kasich steps up and goes head to head with Trump as well. Will be an epic way to boost his numbers.

Common sense would lead you to believe that, but remember how poorly Rick Perry's moderate arguments on immigration were received in one of the debates in 2012? If the audience is sympathetic to Trump from the start, they might perceive attacks on him negatively and it could backfire on Jeb and Perry.

Unless Trump bombs fantastically I'm not sure the debate is going to matter all that much for his numbers right now.
