Basically when you isolate out leftists who identify as independents rather than with Democrats (41%), and the conservatives who identify with independents rather than the GOP (36%) the remaining true independents don't prefer Sanders any more than than Hillary Clinton (though they both trump Trump). Most of Sanders' "independents" are so left of center they are really closeted Democrats or to the left of the Democrats.
One of my coworkers went Full Bryce recently. How no one who matters has called him out (since it's way out of military regs) I have no idea.
Think it depends on the branch. Navy mostly is concerned with if it touches the ear/collar and the max length and obviously weird colors/styles. So we had a guy whose hair was so big and wild he was nicknamed the badger. But if you pulled the hair and measured it it was under 4 inches and he kept it off his ears and collar. Then we had another guy growing a big poofy fro but made sure to keep it barely in regs while looking way out of regs
Nah that shit is well over 4 inches
An awesome companion piece to Trump's energy speech.

Trump was encountering his own speech, if not for the first time, then something close to it. The difference in tone and affect between the parts he read and the parts he freestyled was almost comical. He would squint at the teleprompter for a moment, read a fully formed English sentence with correct grammar and multisyllabic words ... and then grin, look out at the audience, and fire off a few hortatory exclamations.
Good article about Hillary's VP-naming troubles - so many good candidates for her to pick are senators in states with Republican governors, so choosing them would mean losing a Senate seat since the Governor would appoint the interim senator.

Trump has backed out of the Bernie debate.
I wonder what Luis Guitierrez (Hillary's DNC platform member pick) has to say? That is assuming she even gives a fuck.
Juan González discusses a proposed bill backed by the Obama administration and congressional leaders that would create a new bankruptcy-type process specifically tailored for Puerto Rico. A House committee voted in favor of the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management and Economic Stability Act earlier this week. On the presidential trail, Hillary Clinton has backed the measure, while Bernie Sanders has opposed it.

Oh look at that. Who saw this coming?
You hear that Bernie supporters? That's Trump, calling out to you. See? He thinks the Democratic primary process is rigged, just like Bernie! He's such an outsider, that guy.
Petty, but I found it funny that women's health issues are a charitable cause.
