It's more than just a right - a well-educated public is a necessity for a strong democracy. Every single person benefits when others are more educated. It's a shame that Republicans are aware of this, and that's why they're constantly trying to destroy public education. It's so much easier to tell people what to think (and who to vote for) when they're too ignorant to think for themselves.
