Paul Ryan was not running against Trump with the possibility of forcing a floor vote at the convention. As long as that's still the trajectory that Bernie is on, it's hard to see him acknowledging his defeat as an active endorsement of Hillary. I'm not saying it won't happen, but this seems premature.

It's no different then what he's said for like a year. He's made it clear his absolute priority is to keep the Republicans out of the white house. Saying that he'd vote for Hillary in the general is completely consistent with this message.

The Shillbots are running around declaring endorsement because it gives the media something Hillary related to talk about that isn't ANOTHER new email/DNC hack angle, since the MSM obviously isn't allowed to talk about most of that stuff.

Yeah I don't think anyone who's been paying attention seriously thinks Bernie wouldn't support Hillary in the general. I just find it silly to call what he said an endorsement when he's still doing things that are actively pressuring against what the Hillary campaign would do otherwise in terms of platform positions, rules committee members, etc.

If you care to actually look, you'll see that I have never ever once stated the Hillary is a sure thing in the general. But I will definitely defend that, even if she eventually loses, she was a superior match-up vs. Trump than Bernie.

My point is only that Bernie endorsing her was an inevitability. Because ultimately Bernie is still a politician (again, look up all the ways I pointed out how Bernie played politics as usual, catering to special interests and entertaining lobbyists on behalf of the DSCC). Even petulant as he has been during the primary race, you don't tell your voters to take your ball and go home
