yeah he signed the "religious freedom" bill then acted like he had no idea it could be used to discriminate against gays after the uproar. made amendments to it after.

Yup. Revisions were only made to the bill after the NCAA and other sports entities like the NFL told him to knock it the fuck off or don't expect shit to happen in Indiana. Tried to safeface afterwards by claiming it was all "a misunderstanding."

You're both right. The Great Lakes region is part of the Midwest in the broadest sense, but there's a pretty clear divide between those states and the others if you actually go there.

You can argue demographics all you want. The midwest ends at Kansas/Missouri. Don't believe me, come down here and look at all the signs that say "Midwest this" and "Midwestern that".

The Great Plains are a geographical feature. Not a state region. That's like calling states in the Appalachians "Appalachia" and in the Rockies "Rocky".

The census bureau can define the region how it wants, but the third sentence in that link literally says "Though the region is traditionally defined in a number of ways..." Most of the region does not traditionally consider Kansas, Nebraska, or the Dakotas to be a part of the group .
