What a beautiful, beautiful man.
What a beautiful, beautiful man.
I miss you Jon Stewart
Apparently there are lots of Credit cards and Social security numbers listed in the leaked documents. Wikileaks doing good work harming DNC donors.

Tim Kaine for VP
http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/07/23....co/PPtdT8BwXk
Kind of a rough pick.
Not really an important swingstater and doesn't bolster any demographic.
He's incredibly boring but appears to be clean as a whistle. Considering the endless stream of scandals/controversies (OMG right wing conspiracy) that follow Clinton, that's probably a good choice.
VA is still a swing state just not as sexy as OH, PA, FL. and the one demographic Hill needs help with is white men. Dems also won't lose a senate seat since VA has a Dem Gov. Sherrod Brown would have been sexy but that's a forfeited senate seat. Tom Perez is brilliant and politically savvy but his name carries even less weight than Kaine's. Warren was never going to happen. I don't even remember who else was on the short list. This also leaves the Castro bros free to keep thriving as she needs no help with the Latino vote.
yeah she wants to bolster VA and she pretty much already has minorities/women locked up, so that means no need for castro or warren.
A safe pick but could be out of touch with the mood of the country due to TPP/trade/Wall Street.
"Do no harm" is the #1 rule for VP picks. I'm not thrilled, but she's following the rule, not sure any other VP choice fits the bill.
I'm not entirely sure what Kaine specifically contributes to a Clinton Administration aside from apparently being generally competent. Not that being generally competent is a bad thing, but VPs also tend to fill in gaps in experience for the top of the ticket. What can Kaine do that Clinton can't?
I don't think Hillary is looking for someone to fill in gaps in experience as her VP. She wants someone who will back her up, fall in line, and not upstage her.
Kaine has an impressive resume but his trade positions are going to be a weak point. Maybe this helps them win Virginia which is a factor. It's not an awful pick but if she loses this will be another example of how playing to the center was a bad strategy in the current political climate.
Here's a tweetstorm about Kaine.
He sounds very authentic.

See that just reinforces the idea that Hillary has doubled down on everything good about Hillary. There will now be two Hillarys in the white house. Maybe that's the plan. Double the pres, double the fun.
Wikileaks starts their release of Hillary emails, so they instantly head it off by announcing the VP pick via text ahead of the actual announcement that was planned for a few days from now. Well played.
