Nothing. I merely understand that the DNC exists to manage the party and give it the best chance of succeeding in the general election, not to cater to millennials who are throwing fits and proving exactly why their votes weren't valuable.

But isn't that an issue with our political system? In order to be a viable candidate for president, it comes down to the decision of a private group who is able to run. You can vote for whatever candidate you want, but only the candidates that a private group chooses.

You are putting the cart before the horse. Candidates aren't viable because parties choose them. Parties choose candidates who are viable. Parties have agendas of course, but what good is an agenda if you can't push it? Their primary interest is in winning elections. They are biased against candidates that can't do that.

As for Trump, he is exhibit A in what happens when the party doesn't get their way. He wasn't their choice, and by the time they realized that his candidacy wasn't going to just go away the damage was done. He's also the prime example why you don't give disproportionate power to the fringe of your base. The gymnastics that people go through to excuse the shitty behavior of the DNC amazes me constantly. I don't even care about the Democrats or the Democratic Party. I do care about Progressive policies, which is why I won't waste a vote that causes Trump to win.

Still, it never ceases to get a laugh out of me how people can just hand-wave shit like "derr they have a right to collude because this and a real good candidate would have overcome that like Obama".

Nobody would have overcome that amount of collusion, and even then nobody will ever be as gifted a speaker as Obama was for a long time.
