I think we need to stop for a minute and realize we're trying to make sense of something Ted Cruz said..
I'm undecided as of yet whether Cruz is a "true believer" in the things he says. I feel like he's just a denier because he is in bed with businesses with vested interests in being permitted to continue polluting, because he flat out doesn't care, or his capitalism is just so pure it can't stomach any regulations.
He went to Princeton and Harvard Law, I can't imagine he legitimately believes that humans have no impact on climate change.
I know someone with 2 Masters degrees, one in Electrical Engineering and one in Business Administration, and a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He still believes that Dinosaurs didn't exist. He also believes that humans cannot possibly do enough harm to the earth to cause any significant detrimental effects. He believes that the earth will "correct" anything that humans do. That is what all these storms, rising sea levels, disappearing glaciers, and droughts are about.
So, yeah. Education pedigree does not necessarily matter.
I honestly can't see her challenging Hilary. I think only Democrats with pretty much nothing to lose, or who aren't in it to win it, would want to make a move.
O'Malley: Going to run a nice positive campaign to build recognition so he will be tapped for VP.
Sanders: Is on the fringe and he knows it; just wants to push her to the left.
Webb: Out of politics essentially. Has no shot.
Biden: Will be out of politics after Obama's term is over. Realizes he has no shot, and probably won't run. http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/joe-biden...-the-long-game
...so he has the same ideology as the villain from Kingsmen and thinks thatHe believes that the earth will "correct" anything that humans do. That is what all these storms, rising sea levels, disappearing glaciers, and droughts are about.?Spoiler: show
But I mean if he recognizes these things are happening, and that they are a response to human action, that's something... right?
I honestly can't tell if he's a Sarah Palin or a Michele Bachmann. Palin is clearly playing to her base for all she can get, while Bachmann is legitimately batshit-insane. I want to say that Cruz appears to be playing to base.. but some of his actions (for instance, the government shutdown) make me think he might actually be insane..
But Carly Fiorina might! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/0...n_6964340.html
Oh yay. Maybe we will get some more comical ads like the ones she ran against boxer a few years ago.
Yeah, I know. I just wanted to ponder the idea. I listened to a good interview on Here and Now were she explained her position. Basically, she wants to stay in the Senate because she can get the most done there. The Presidency would only hinder the progress she is working on.
The radio interview is here:
Elizabeth Warren - Here and Now-
I think the primary reason anyone other than Hillary runs from the Democrats is really just to throw their hat in for the VP.
Or Secretary of State. ;D
Rand Paul expected to announce today:
http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/07/politi...016/index.htmlSince riding the tea party wave into the Senate in 2010, Paul has carefully built a brand of mainstream libertarianism -- dogged advocacy of civil liberties combined with an anti-interventionist foreign policy and general support for family values -- that he bets will create a coalition of younger voters and traditional Republicans to usher him into the White House.
The test of that theory begins Tuesday when the Kentucky senator is expected to make official what has been clear for years: He's running for president.
And he announced on his website -- speaking at noon.
Seems like the most appropriate place to put this.

WSU statistician sues seeking Kansas voting machine paper tapes
It's voter fraud! Republicans were right about needing stricter voting laws to prevent fraud!
They just had to be the ones committing the fraud to justify it..
Rand Paul in the running right on time. Too bad he'll never get the nomination because he's not a War Hawk, lol.
