I have a feeling black people would have no problem voting for Trump. Trump keeps it real, he's cash money, black people don't care about illegal immigrants.

Looking at other things this gal has said, I am reasonably sure it is a mockery of Birthers. But Cruz' mother was a citizen of the US. Therefore, no matter where else he is born, he's a citizen. It really is that simple, and the whole thing right now is just aimed at Birthers demanding proof of Obama's citizenship. It was eye-roll worthy when Tea Party folks were doing it, it's even more eye-roll worthy now.

That is a good point and that is what I thought the only part that caught my attention is that it is possible that she renounced her US citizenship before he was born. In the end the whole thing is silly though. If it is true and the people in charge of checking that release a statement then it would be interesting but articles speculating about it just sound like birther crap all over.

I said all that, and then I read her profile... she might just be a Birther who is doubling-down. Either way, I don't think there's anything to it-- the mere fact that she's equating Cruz and Ahnold kind of makes me face-palm.

I'm not really interested in this topic and was really just trying to stir up shit, but this is actually a pretty heated debate at some of the top law schools in the country. Legal definitions are very important and there's never been a definitive one on this topic. While I agree with the traditional interpretation, you can't just laugh it off.

I was always taught in school that the US has both jus sanguinis and jus soli, and either is legit for natural-born citizenship purposes. Don't have either, then you are either a naturalized citizen, or not a citizen.
