Over the last 13 Super Bowls, 8 of them have been one score games, and another (Saints vs. Colts), was a 1-score game until a late 4th quarter Pick Six put it out of reach. Of those decided by more than 1 score, only two are really "blow outs" (Seattle vs. Denver, Tampa vs. Oakland); the other two were two score games (though boring as heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeck).

And the Patriots Super Bowls in the Brady/Belichick era? ALL of them have been 1 score games, and ALL of them have been legitimate one-score games where it's not a blow-out-masked-by-garbage-time-points. I'm excited for the Seahawks to lose, because screw the Seahawks.

Super Bowl blowouts recently have been when the defensively superior team dominates the other ('14 Seahawks, '03 Bucs, '01 Ravens). The Seahawks haven't lost a game by double digits since 2011, and only one game by more than 7 points (9 points, @SD, this year). I'll be surprised if that changes here; if it's a blowout, I think it's the Seahawks doing the dominating.

However, the Patriots' Super Bowls in the Belichick era have been decided by 3, 3, 3, 3, and 4 points. That strikes me more as how this game is going to go. (Of course, I thought the same thing last year, so who knows?)

I picked the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl before the season (although over the Broncos), I'm not going to change from that now.
