After gchatting with headspace, who did not respond during the entirety of our conversation, i have come up with the ultimate top 3
1) Rembert
2) Netw3rk
3) Shea Serrano
Bill Barnwell can suck an egg
I can list off a bunch of stats for Brady, too. Big deal.
"Stats are for losers. Final score is for winners. And that's really what it's all about."
Stats don't tell you much. I can list stats from a random football game, and regardless what they are, you won't be able to necessarily tell me what the story of the game was. I don't see Rodgers doing the kind of things that forge legacies when it matters the most. At least not very often. Tom does epic shit so often it's actually taken for granted.
If anyone else did what Tom did against the Ravens (epic comeback), then the Colts (get raped), then the Seahawks (epic comeback), nobody would be able to stop talking about it. Because it's Tom, it's just business as usual.
Tom is GOAT. People act like saying Rodgers is #2 in the league behind the GOAT is some horrible insult.
Passer rating stats: Romo>Brady
Believe it.
Tom has definitely had a better career, but that's more because it's been longer, providing him with more opportunities.
I think when it's all said and done Brady will retire with more rings and counting stats, and Rodgers will have more MVPs and rate stats. I want to believe that Rodgers can win 3 more rings but that is a tall order, especially when bullshit like this season happens.
So Rodgers doesn't have a good team?
In 2011 Brady and Rodgers had the same show. Elite offense, worthless defense. Rodgers went home in the first round, Brady almost won the Superbowl.
Maybe that's because Brady is the best post season quarterback of all time, and maybe he's that because he's better than Rodgers.
Physical abilities are just tools Quarterbacks use to play their position. Rodgers is more athletic than Brady, he's faster than Brady, and he throws a more accurate deep ball than Brady. This doesn't make him a better QB than Brady.
Michael Vick had some of the best tools of any QB to ever play football. He's not on either of their levels.
MVP's are fanfare, man. It's fans voting on their favorite. You don't have to drive down a field with 90 seconds left to play, in the snow or wind, against an elite defense, to win an MVP. You just have to get people to vote for you in a room that has nothing to do with a football field.
Manning shouldn't have won MVP over either Rodgers or Brady in 2012, yet he did, because it's a subjective process.
Yep. QBs don't play defense or special teams and they usually run the plays their coaches call. Lots of variables.
haha
Rodgers and Brady both play vs. the NFC East and AFC South this year. notbad.jpg
Really? I've never heard him say anything about MVP's, but they are overrated. You can't use an MVP award for determining who the better player is. It's like using an Oscar to determine the best actor. Manning had inferior stats to both Rodgers and Brady in 2012 and they gave it to him because "he came back from neck surgery." WTF does that have to do with anything? Calling MVP's fanfare, which is what they are, seems pretty legit to me.
I'm fine with summing up Brady and Rodgers as 1a and 1b, but calling Rodgers the best QB in the league just because he has an impressive skill set doesn't make sense to me while Tom just won a Superbowl that came off 4 consecutive AFC Championship games, and the "it's a team game" only flies so far considering how flawed the Pats have been until this year. Without Tom, the Patriots don't make it past Baltimore this year. Again, Vick had a great skill set too, and did shit Tom could never do. That never made him a better quarterback. Tom has tools too, like reading a defense after the snap, that aren't as easy to see.
It's a team game, but we still see the difference between a Brady and a Manning in the Superbowl against Seattle
I can't argue about this all day because I dig Rodgers too much to crap on him in Brady's defense
I want FA to start
Things I care about:
NE: Revis, McCourty, Vareen, Ridley, WIlfork, Gostowski
Browns: Hoyer
Seattle: Roster ramifications of Wilson contract, Lynch
Broncos: Entire offense.
I skimmed the last few pages and lold, just want you all to know if the Eagles ever win a superbowl I'm going to make NL look like ghandi
it will never happen of course but you should be aware.
