godzilla would fight and win, then somehow at the end he would help kill the evil bad kaijus along with the jaegers.
First movie already established the existence of interdimensional travel. Godzilla comes through some rift. Ezpz. More than enough explanation for a franchise that asks you to check your brain at the door.
yes maybe in that other dimension the kaiju are all fleeing to our world caues godzilla is killing them on theirs.
Officially has been "Delayed indefinitely"

Tough news for Guillermo del Toro fans, as Legendary has announced that Pacific Rim’s sequel has been put on hold indefinitely.
Back in June, director Guillermo del Toro committed to creating a sequel to the somewhat popular film Pacific Rim. The film’s release date was set for April 7, 2017, but now it’s been shelved.
Variety reports Guillermo planned to start production in November, but now the movie has been pushed back to August 4, 2017. The original film didn’t have a strong release, so it may have looked too costly to make a sequel, considering it’s very possible the second film would pull in even lower numbers.
Universal and Legendary were both working on the sequel together, with del Toro helming the project which originally starred Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Idris Elba, Charlie Day and Robert Kazinsky.
While not much was known about the sequel’s story, del Toro promised fans would be excited about the monster sequel. The first Pacific Rim grossed $400 million worldwide with Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures working together.
It’s disappointing to see any del Toro film get shelved, but maybe he’ll choose another exciting project. He has his upcoming horror film coming up, Crimson Peak, which also starred Charlie Hunnam. He will be joined by Jessica Chastain and Loki actor Tom Hiddleston.
We’re excited for del Toro’s upcoming film, and look forward to hearing from the director on why Pacific Rim’s sequel was shelved.
Noooooooooooooooooooooo
Also wait, title says delayed indefinitely but the article says its been pushed back like 5 months???
God fucking damn it!
Awwww
Maybe they realized the mistake they were about to make. Cancel.
Good.
FUCK
First silent hills, now this. If there was proof that god existed and that he is an angry and vengeful being, this is it.
Some studio motherfuckers need some slapping.
Someone on Reddit was saying that del Toro's Crimson Peak had 2 studios paying for it but one backed out so Universal got stuck with the bill and this is basically a result of that. So maybe if Crimson Peak does well? @_@
looks like we will have to wait a little longer for them to find a sword again
