Following their Q3 financial report, Take-Two has today confirmed the existence (or imminent existence) of Borderlands 3 during their earnings call. Not as it was much of a surprise, but Take-Two has also confirmed that they will be publishing the game upon release through their 2K Games subsidiary.

The game will be exclusive to current-gen consoles and PC.

No release date or further details have been announced.

Pop culture references != meme. I loved the writing in 2. The meme references were mostly in the challenge names/mission descriptions. BL2 is THE most quotable game I've ever played, and it's pretty damn hard to make that big of an impression with dialogue in a video game.

That being said, Anthony Burch has slowly been getting swept up in the SJW bullshit that has been permeating the game industry for the last couple years. The "Friend-zone" rant in BL2.5 (which was done by him, he wrote parts of that game) was so fucking hamfisted and not funny at all, that I'm actually glad he's not going to be working on BL3 if that was the direction he was going to be taking things. He was an amazing comedic writer and I love HAWP (sans the last year) and BL2 to death, but he's a classic example of somebody who's so concerned with being "politically correct" that it's killed his comedy.

The best humor has been and always will be offensive, and the Borderlands universe is a perfect outlet for offensive humor, there's no room for that PC, SJW garbage in it.

the actual game mechanics and AI etc can, at least theoretically, be improved upon as they aren't being limited to "can we make this run on ancient hardware" (inb4 still has to run on outdated hardware because console peasants hurr durr)

Makes me curious if they'll keep the 4-player splitscreen in BL3 that the BL2/PreSequel ports to PS4/Xbone are having, or ditch it in favor of 'graphics'.

If BL3 had a crazy character selection of all the previous games with no new additions I would be pleased. I feel like we have such a stellar line up now that "repaying" any previous character would still be super fun.

i kinda got the impression bl2 was setting up a Destiny-esque game, where you fly around to different planets and shit. Not the MMO part though, I think Borderlands will forever be 4 player.

yes its good but you might wanna wait until the handsome collection comes out.


pre-sequel is basically BL2 with new characters and a few new mechanics. very fun.
