So for the L1 targeting: Maybe I'm not doing it right, or this is reallly how it works... but once I enter the mode and hit left or right on the Dpad, it works as intended, but then goes back to something else, maybe whatever is attacking me. For example. I made a target mode for other players only. When I go to Fates, I'll heal the other players even though they're not in my group. So when i switch target to the random player and heal him, the target leaves him and goes to whatever is attacking me, so I'm basically just hitting right on the dpad, heal, then right on the dpad, heal repeat.
Is that how it works? I mean I guess if I was an actual healer I could make macros for the people in my party.
I always set mode as ennemy and use up/down to target party member and left/right to cycle mobs
Fates is different... you have to change the target mode to all players in order to target other people out of party.
How else do you target non party members during combat with a gamepad?
There's very rarely a need to honestly.
If I do need to I just put away my weapon and target them normally.
I actually have a macro that does target's target so I can quickly target the main tank.
I also like to give the MT regen or raise dead out of party people...
Put you weapon away, target dead person.
Or deal with annoying target filters.
One of the first things I tried to do when 2.0 launched was make a macro for <stpc> and it doesn't exist because reasons.
tbh I don't really deal with target filters either lol, when out of party people die I just use the mouse to click the guy ;o
In this kind of situations is when the gamepad + keyboard/mouse combo of PC pad users shine. Pad for most things, then if you really need to, can quicly click with the mouse someone out of your party and do whatever.
So, materia melding. I'm assuming that unless I have the DoH classes leveled myself, I can't meld items already bonded to me?
You can request a meld, should work like that.
Thanks
