People queuing will be placed into a queue on a first come first serve basis, divided up based on what you queued as. So 3 different queues.

When enough people meet the requirement, the ride takes off.

It has begun ninja's. I am back. Gf and I both playing. She is on ps4 I'm on pc.

What job class should I attempt? My first job class in ffxi when it first came out was monk. It was useless for years. Lol.

I'm reading a war can tank as dps is better then a gladatior using hate abilities.

My gf is a whm. If that matters.

To continu on this topic and as pointed by Carth, WAR can DPS decently (given you know what you're doing) once you reach level 52 and as your loved one is WHM I really think you could go WAR if you like it because sometimes its just difficult to heal a random tank in the DF or whatnot.

You know your g/f well and she know you well which could be a good beginning for the two of you to make the WHM/WAR duo. You'd have the base to get a party started and you would just have to look for decent DPS - other healer/tank in 8 men situation. Its also a good way to self improve both of your playstile together and learning with each others, but ofc you need to love the tanking role.

Seconding this. Even though I leveled BRD with my gf through HW storyline, anything that we do together is usually done WAR+WHM. Dragonskin Maps, hunts, expert roulette and questing just feel better since WHM can rip hate off a BRD pretty easily. Plus, you get the added benefit of telling her you're doing the favor of saving her from DF tanks :D

On top of that, there seems to be a finite amount of groups "pairing up" at a time, which is why solo tank tends to insta-queue but tank+DPS pairs tend to still take a little bit. If your two people don't fit into a "forming" group without kicking anyone out, you have to wait for one of the other groups to fill up and enter before you can start finding your group.

The people that were happy to fill, got in instantly.

The groups that were stuck on 5/8 6/8 7/8? Took ages to fill, sometimes.

I forgot about people that queued in groups.

For the zodiac weapons. How tough are they to get? Is it true for paladin sword and shield are only 1 quest.

It's true there's only one quest for sword/shield. Zodiac weapons are a lengthy process, but significantly easier now. Pretty worthless atm tho I guess you could do it for the "headstart" for the next weapon in 3.1

It is sort of similar to FFXI, one difference being Provoke which does not work the same way as FFXI. Provoke does not generate enmity on its own but put you on top of the enmity list. This being said nothing will really happen if you use it on its own, you will have to execute another action after such as Shield Lob/Rage of Alone combo/flash/etc.

The Zodiac weapons are easy to get but can be time consuming, what I suggest is for the two of you to skip them for now, get to Lv60 with whichever weapon you can get when Lv50 upward (iLv115+ +) and look back when you're Lv60 as farming some items will be much more easy once you reach Lv60. You will have the possibility to go inside Low Lv/Lv50 Dungeon unsynched with your g/f and farming the RNG items will be a breeze for the 2 of you as you will be able to rush said dungeons.

I have a random question regarding service account bullshit and blah blah blah and couldn't figure out a better place to ask at the moment:

- I have had my own XIV Legacy PC account on my original Square-Enix Account since FFXI.
- My ex had a separate (probably inactive since my credit card # changed) XIV PS4 account on her own Square-Enix account.
- I own one physical copy of the PS4 version that was used with the aforementioned ex's account.

I'm trying to set up an all new PS4 XIV account for my fiance, ideally on her own, fresh Square-Enix Account. If I completely cancelled all services on my ex's inactive account, deleted characters, and tried to shut everything I could down, would I be able to use the PS4 copy of the game or would I need to repurchase the game as well as a new service account? The Playstation Store's description of a new service account says that it would be under the existing Square-Enix account, does that mean the PS4 copy of the game I bought is used up by that account permanently?

The serial is tied to that existing account, so you wouldn't be able to use a fresh account with that PS4 copy, you'd have to buy another for a new serial key.

On that note, every platform has its own serial key with ARR to access it from that platform on a given account. PC, PS3, PS4, Mac. You couldn't just buy it for PS4 and then try to log-in on PC without having registered a PC copy for example.

You can't unbind the a specific copy of the game from the initial Square-Enix Account it was used with? I just completely cancelled my ex's Square-Enix Account.

I was expecting this to some degree and wanted to just make another digital purchase on the Playstation Store of the core game + Heavensward bundle but since I already own the core game, it won't even let me repurchase it. Should I just purchase the "additional service account" thing and try to add it to my fiance's Square-Enix account? This shit is always so contrived on consoles...

edit: after deleting the PS4 game... upon trying to link the game with the Playstation Network, it only gives me the option of using the original (now deleted) Square-Enix Account. I submitted an application to switch Square-Enix Accounts as a "mistake" despite it being linked to the account like 8 months ago... but something about the process is inherently fucked up when my only option appears to be repurchasing specifically a physical copy of the client... unless there's some way of removing XIV from my Playstation Network... account?

I want the gown from the "3000 FATEs completed" achievement, so I have to farm like 2.5k FATEs. Which area has the fastest clear time on average? I'm assuming Coerthas Central, because while it's bigger than NThan it also has more up at any given time so you don't get the stretches of 0 and people still farm them there.

(I figure if there's anywhere that knows this, it's here.)

e: oh yeah, and "successfully complete" means bronze medal or better, right? Just "don't fail"?

I'm level 20 gladiator and I'm enjoying the game. Doing duty pickup games in between quests and fates. Gf and I haven't been to the third city island. Planning that tonight so we can do all the quests for that city together.

Crafting is more reliable to HQ.
Comparing to 11 random leveling up, 14 crafting is easier.

3rd City Island? You're talking about Limsa Lominsa? If you do, don't forget to go pick the MRD class when you're there as it will be helpful for you later (cross class.)

Or go even further by leveling up a gatherer such as miner so you can level up your armorer to make gear for your gladiator so he can kill monsters to make the leather for your botanist to farm threads and make the clothing for your weaver to make the robes for your whm gf.

(If noone already mentioned, crafting armor pieces is a minigame itself. I havent played xi since WotG but its not press to craft and hope for the best. You actually have to input commands on xiv and you can crossclass skills between the different crafters for optimum success)
