In fairness, his endorsement deals in 2014 were like $12M; his salary in Denver is $21M.
That said, dude's made over $150M at this point, and it's not like he's going to go hungry.... ever. But man, he might just make Colorado gain a collective 20 lbs. off pizza if he dropped his pay to get the ring. If it brought the Lombardi back where it belongs, his 21 Papa Johns locations in the state would sell out of everything.
In fairness, I was employing hyperbole.
But in any case, unless he has a complete moron for a financial planner, dude could play for free and still be set for life. If he runs into financial problems, he can always sign an advertising deal leasing out the space on his forehead for billboards.
Considering the Bronco's were fudging the numbers and over the cap those years it's not like Elway taking a pay cut actually mattered in terms of what the team could do with the money.
The Bills have notifind Kiko Alonso he will be traded to the Eagles for Lesean McCoy next week
lol @ iggles.
How good is that guy? Never heard of him, could be becausae he's mediocre or could be because he plays on the bills. They had a sicknasty defense last year tho so he must be solid.
all I thought was poor iggles...but damn...Rex getting himself a team
More Sparkles!
I'm in class and I heard the Eagles released Cary Williams and I was like yay and then I was like they got WHAT for McCoy?
Alonso was good but wasn't he hurt all last year?
MARD MART
Good trade. Kiko is a good LB and any RB can come in and produce in Kelly's scheme. Not to mention McCoy had a crazy contract that they're not out from under.
this is really the opposite of the dream team. EVERYTHING MUST GO!
Hope Kiko doesn't go all Sean Lee on you guys
I think it was a shrewd move as well. Shady wasn't as good last year, aging RB, expensive contract. Normally I would be more worried that the Bills were worried about Alonso's recovery, but the word is he wanted out of Buffalo.
Some writers were saying it was basically a salary dump with the possible return of a pro bowl LB. I think selling high on a RB is a good move 99% of the time.
Remember that Kiko played for Chip at Oregon.
27 years old, coming off of a "down" season (his efficiency was low, so ignore the raw yardage) and over the past two years he's had the most touches out of any RB.
Far and away a win for the Eagles.

Kiko was DROY runner up to Sheldon Richardson, then got hurt early the next year. Seems like a win for the Eagles if you ask me.
