I don't think so as I believe he was suspended/contract voided. The only thing that may affect the cap is any stretched out bonus money that I know the Patriots are trying to recoup.

Edit : nvm, he still counts against the cap up thru 2018. Averages to around 5.6 million a year.

NFL contracts are super confusing, but the short version is that because they canned him the moment the story broke it basically left them on the hook for his costs for the remainder of his 7 year contract signed in 2012 (edit: actually 5 year extension that was tacked onto the remaining 2 years on his rookie deal).

Hernandez will never see the money for obvious reasons, but he's still counting against the cap regardless.
