saying chari hasnt heard of white-knighting is like saying Ksandra has never heard of marble slab
....
I am just saying, you should have gone with Coldstone
Are you guys talking about the icecream place because I thought he was talking about http://www.urbandictionary.com/defin...rm=marble+slab
Perhaps because I think it's offensive? Why do you assume that I have to be gay to find that offensive? I mean people are still going to do it, nothing is going to change that, but it still sends the message that being gay is bad and that's why I don't like it. The same reason I also don't like people using "stop throwing like a girl" or someone yelling "LET'S GO LADIES" to a bunch of men as an insult, because it implies there's something inherently bad about being a woman. You don't have to agree with me, but I personally don't like my gender or someone's sexuality being used as an insult.
lol
is there something that comes beyond offense when talking about slurs
a man called me a spic once and it tore my rotator cuff
I bet you throw like a girl now.
like a thirteen year old black girl
So yea, that's what I mean by white-knighting.
People who aren't affected in the slightest by something yet take ultra offense when someone says it.
I mean, I guess you can encourage people not to say things like that because it's offensive to the people the word is designed to insult... but if they're not insulted, then why care at all?
Because damaged feelings or ego are the most pressing problems of these times.
