Echoing what Corrderio has to say, other than showing off a familiar UI which doesn't really need to change anyway because it's so simple and easy to understand. I can't really get hyped until we get some details of what is to come with it all.

what's the deal with that? not to derail the thread. I was interested in playing Starbound but everyone says it's just... not complete.

on topic: I feel like I should be more interested in this but I'm just not. which is weird because Terraria is in my top 5 all-time games. I mean I'm curious but I guess there's just not enough info yet for the hype to be real.

The gist of it is Starbound wasn't anywhere close to their projected release date. It's been available on Steam as an Early Access Game for over a year and it took them over a year to release a new stable update as well.

Early Access games are bound to failure and rarely make a full release.

Pretty much. I don't think I've ever seen a game go from Early Access to release except one or two. At least Starbound seems committed to try and push something out even though their progress is about as slow as a crippled snail, which I can say is more than what most greenlight/early access games turn out to be.

Wasn't Terraria also forced into an early release due to the game getting leaked? All I remember about the game in it's early days is is the release vid they had that used edited sprites from FF5.

this thread is making me want to replay Terraria... I have a game going right now with a nice resort on the ocean for my NPCs. although I do wish you could build your own ocean biome in the middle of the map.

anyone still play? I've never actually done multiplayer... might be fun, idk

Lol, forever beta I'm afraid. I don't know what they're holding back for they've pushed out a decent amount of content and rebalanced the combat idk how many times and wiped characters not, that.. that is really that bad but still tedious.

I think you can actually do this, just has to be enough water blocks to be considered an ocean in the surface biome.

edit: Maybe not, doesn't mention being able to do this on the wiki.

edit2: Oh, guess you can. >.> Just has to be a certain distance away from the spawn point.

yeah, ocean has to be a certain distance from the edges. so if you built one in the middle of the map it wouldn't work no matter how much sand and water you gathered.

kind of annoying having a homebase on one edge but the ocean music is worth it.
