It's disappointing purely because there were so many better ways they could have implemented it. I appreciate that they at least made it so it wasn't 'whoever grinds the most in a week wins' but it's still flawed purely because of match fixing / buying wins.

Just off the top of my head they could have done something like this

Create a TT DF Roulette that randomly pairs you up in matches rather than having to hunt people down. Make the tournament ~45 matches. 15 matches against NPCs of varying difficulty to determine a base ranking. 30 matches in roulette where it tries to pair you up against people of varying ranks (5 in bottom 20%, 5 in 21-40%, 5 in 41-60%, etc)

Also they need to expand the rewards, 3 per server is too few. It should be like 1 per 50-100 entries or something.

Yeah like 95%ish win rate even half asleep with beastman deck + amaljaa.

I got like 3 Kan E off him so far. I farm him during window for GP.

Beastmen build + Alph/Alis (Warrior of Light is a better alternative).

Strategy is to fill the board starting in the lower left corner going clockwise without exposing any 2s and never giving the opportunity to have more than 1 of your cards flipped.

The goal is to get him to play Minfilia (always in his deck) and you flip it on the right with A&A or WoL with the spot below your card either being already occupied or the edge of the board, making both cards un-takeable.

Alternatively if you can't place A&A without it being exposed from the bottom then hold onto it and continue playing the board from the top-left defensively and hopefully he places Ramuh with an open spot below as one of his last turns which you can flip as long as Minfilia or Yda&Papa have been played.

If you're using A&A instead of WoL you'll have more trouble since if the AI is shooting for a Draw by placing Ramuh on the right side of the board during one of it's last turns then you can't flip it with A&A unless either Minfilia or Yda&Papa have been played already, Ramuh will ascend to 8+1 and A&A can only flip it with 9+1 if another Scion was already played while WoL can just brute force it with the raw A.

I usually bait out a flip by leading with frixio on the right middle, take frixio back with amaljaa, then whatever takes the amaljaa on the 1 side gets taken then everything has ascended high enough to be good.

Only ever have trouble if they take frixio from above, then it gets weird.

I usually bait out a flip by leading with frixio on the right middle, take frixio back with amaljaa, then whatever takes the amaljaa on the 1 side gets taken then everything has ascended high enough to be good.

Only ever have trouble if they take frixio from above, then it gets weird.

That's the deck I used against the Imperial but I didn't like it for this since Amaljaa generally can't flip anything that the other beastmen cards can't and it resulted in a lot of Draws.

I use Ixtal as bait and the rest of the 2 star beastmen make mincework of the Imperial its actually quite funny.

Been doing this too. Ixal in upper left, the rest of the 2666's just go wherever. Rarely lose.

Need better work on my Plus vs some npc's though, seems I forgot how to numbers and having stronger cards made me turn brain off.

Swift on the other hand... likes to rape by bunghole and not even use lube. I get about 50/50 win ratio but even still he wont drop the 5 star lol

If people are upset at only 3 cards going out to winners each tournament, just wait until previous winners start winning again and getting doubles/triples that end up sold for a handful of MGP.

I don't really know how to go about farming Swift. Even if Chaos favors me, I still end up drawing most of the time, since I just can't take cards from him. Tried using the adventurer guild set along with Squall, but doesn't seem to do much. Not sure what other cards would be good to use on this guy.

I remember I went one session where he kept doing weird things and I was forced into draws. But otherwise he's so easy as you said. I think my best session was 20wins/1tie/0losses.

I think I just used the recommended set against him which for me was like

Livia, Rhit, Biggs/Wedge, 1 of the beastmen, Squall. I think I just tried to goad the bottom right into being filled so when I played Squall at the end it was a guaranteed 1-2 flip. Having said that, my win rate was still awful, maybe like 40-50%.

The biggest dickhead to farm is Landenel though because with 2* star deck access, you're probably sub 50% win rate and it's not even break even on MGP because for some ridiculous reason he only aware 50MGP on a win (21 on draw, 7 on a loss)

What I usually do for the plus people is figure out where they usually like to play their big cards, and place my cards accordingly so that if they do the "best" play, I can take their card with a plus.

I feel mildly stupid every time I spend 10 seconds wondering if I can make plus or not, when literally all of my cards have odd numbers and I am looking at trying to take an even number.

Having issues now with previous weak NPC opponents because my the 3*s I have all have the same numbers which makes it easy for NPCs to plus me.
