Platinum 5-stars are only 600 MGP

Makes sense, 4-10 get an additional Platinum pack.

All my mules who placed on the board got the same # of packs my main did not on the board. So ~4 packs is probably the soft cap for this tournament.

I say this tourney because who knows how many matches the next one will be.

Was pretty stoked to get Nanamo card from a plat pack. They've got 80 cards to pull from and they felt the need to put Ultima in both Gold and Plat packs? Lazy.

Did anyone score enough to NOT get a platinum pack? I wonder where the cutoff was.

I got around 2.6k points and got 2 plat packs. I'd assume 2-2.5k gets one packs and <2k gets wonka'd

Think I had around 2300 points and I got 2 packs as well. Ended up getting Lahabrea and Nanamo from mine and didn't have either of them, so I was happy with that.

Played like 7 matches last night and couldn't be assed to finish the remaining because A) I won Bahamut finally and B) tired as fuck. Got 2685 GP but no platinums. I guess I had like 800ish points?

I'm just gonna enter and play all my matches on whatever NPC works, how do you know what NPC you can challenge to tournament matches?

Does is just change with each tournament?

Unless it has changed it's just the NPCs in Gold Saucer. I used to just play Elmer because I needed to farm him anyways. If I can place for packs on next tournament on the easiest guy I'll just do that instead.

I tried a few NPCs outside of the Gold Saucer and didn't find anyone that would offer a tournament match during this tournament. I just played King Elmer until I was down to 3 more games and needed 3 wins to get the Shantotto achievement (30 tournament match wins), then I moved to one of the easy Three of Whatevers guys that you can steamroll with ease.

I finished with 2.8k points and probably would've got more if I had just spammed the easy Three of Whatevers guy (if I recall correctly, Three of Whatever gives 100ish points for a win, and Elmer gives 150ish?).

(Note: I had <60 cards at the time, now that I have >60 cards, I might fare better against King Elmer)
