    Ghosting SSD

    I have a 128GB SSD and kinda wanna upgrade to a 256GB.

Of course my windows is installed on the 128, can I just plug the 256GB, use clonezilla, clone the 128 to 256, then boot on the 256?

Since SSD and HDD are different I dunno if cloning process are also different

its just like you said, plug in, ghost, remove old one, confirm boot, then keep the old one around for a lil bit to make sure new one is gold then wipe and extra SSD

My internship uses SanDisk. Not that big on performance but reliable as any other. Not sure if this will change for you but I use a Crucial 256gb and a more expensive Samsung Pro.

Why not just use the bigger drive for non-OS storage?

Ok fine I fucked up my installation and alot of stuff are on my SSD that shouldve been on my 2 TB, but i'm fucking lazy and don't wanna restart windows and reconfigure some settings, so i wanted to be lazy and just MEH upgrade the SSD from 128 to 256 lol

I'm still confused. If your current configuration works, why not leave the SSD alone and add the new one for games or whatever else you're wanting to put on it?

I have 8 gig left on my main ssd and I do have a lot,of space left on my normal hdd

But the space is for ffxiv expansion ( would be dumb to install xiv on 1 ssd and th expansion on the other1) hence why I'm,lazy

I'm lazy too but it would probably be easier to just reinstall XIV on the larger driver.

Why is SSD cloning that different then HDD cloning?

I don't mind letting my PC clone for 2-5h if needed while i do other stuff

It's not different but why waste five hours when you could just install the game on the other drive with zero chance of fucking anything up?

If your gonna go with a new SSD go with a Samsung Evo 256GB Drive save yourself any hassle they are some of the best on the market. As others have said don't ghost the drive start fresh and then wipe your old one.

i have 3 drives. 1 250gb ssd for OS, 1 250 gig ssd for games, 1 2tb for movies and such. running the games on its own ssd is a vast improvement over the 750 gig hdd i had it on before. its just one of those things that you dont know you need until you do it.

Why? OS takes up like ~20gb updated, and then maaaaybe balloons to what? 40/50ish from bullshitlolmicrosoftsuxz? Not like you can't control it, and trim it down. Redirect the pictures, documents, etc libraries to a large drive blah blah blah. Would have to have an excessive amount of games and programs to need a second SSD along side that. Might have well as RAID0ed for possible game performance, but aside from remembering some great benchmarks I don't know the real world performance gains of that.
Not criticizing you or anything, but I was just curious.
