Maybe that's what the new project del Torro and Kojima are working on? ZoE style Pacific Rim stuff. It's a stretch but not 100% impossible.

At this point, I'm only trying to be realistic. Konami has proven they care more about roach poop than making *video* games. Just trying to prepare for the worst so when that eventuality comes it doesn't hurt as bad.

It's for the best at this point, I'm afraid.

Konami has ceased all triple-A console game production on everything but Pro Evolution Soccer and there are currently no plans for a big new Metal Gear game, while worldwide technology director Julien Merceron has left the company. That's according to a pair of reports on French site Gameblog. Eurogamer understands both reports to be true.

Dude, they're gonna make bank on all the Metal Gear themed Pachinko machines!

Admittedly I don't know anything about the business side of gaming, but why don't companies just scale back on these triple-A titles rather than just flat-out refusing to make them anymore? I know the biggest complaint was that they were starting to become way too expensive and risky to make. Why not something like how Capcom went retro for MM9 and MM10 but obviously not to that extreme. Would anyone be mad with a ZoE3 that looks and plays similarly to it's PS2 predecessors?
