So what are you up to? You seem to post a bit in the XI forum and seem active. I suppose I could attempt to get my old character back. But 1) I want to level everything fresh 2) It would be a dick move of me to do for....reasons...

Well as of Saturday I've been cleaving for job points while rings are up and then muling afterwards. capacity point campaigns are so few and far between it's kind of a big deal. Outside of campaigns I largely keep up with getting points for monthly ambuscade and slowly building up my characters and hopefully getting various testing in. God current ffxi with constant changes, updates and campaigns really makes getting testing in hard

I don't have the time or patience to start all that from scratch, I wouldn't be able to level BLU and merit to full and get all those spells from scratch. :/

I last played in ... I believe 2012 or 2013, whenever Adoulin first came out until around its first or second story update. Is any of that equipment still used?

It might actually be easier to start on a new character if I knew my old one was going to be useless anyhow.

Not sure when that was exactly but older gear that is still used generally is old mission/addon stuff sparingly, random unique stats like twilight cloak, alluvion skirmish stuff which I think might be around when you talking about quitting. Mostly we in escha gear, omen, ambuscade gear, 119 abjs and various forms of 119 af/af2/af3

It would be much easier to pick that character up than start from scratch, just from the perspective of having story missions done. There are ROE objective that give you experience bonuses and items for having completed various quests, and they are retroactive. You'll be set up with nice stuff when you log back in just off that.

Even after that, a few runs of Ambuscade will net you gear that is probably better than anything you have now and that will set you up nicely for Escha and Omen.

Aww no one wants to be a noob with me! I'm looking forward to the slow grind. But it's not even slow. Playing off and on yesterday mixing in quests and I got to level 30 on Monk. Could've been faster if I wasn't opening every chest or farting around doing other things. I can see how the game is extremely solo friendly now which is a good thing for people like me or for those that do not have a lot of time.

It's actually more fun to me to level with trusts at those low levels. They can do some pretty cool stuff and its fast exp.

Is Sylph still around? That's where I was last time, though I remember it being pretty awful a few years ago.

I downloaded the game files yesterday and hit a roadblock. For some reason, I can't figure out my POL password. I THINK i'm doing this correctly and I have to transfer my POL to my square enix account but every password I can think of from 2004-2006 is incorrect. Worse yet, password recovery seems to require a support ticket which actually asked for credit card info lol. If they are asking me to verify the old credit card from 10+ years ago then i'm SOL.

Anyone have any experience with POL password recovery? Or is there a different way I should be logging in? It's only a WOTG era character but if i can see him for $9.99, I want to at least try.

I can't help but your issue is what I thought of for my previous characters as well (even the ones I didn't sell). The info they require to recall is impossible for me to remember. Wish I could be of more help. I'm here on Odin if you decide to start fresh!

Transferring to SE account seems to require a payment information so i'll save that for later today. Man, what a trip lol.

I was trying to recall my Shiva Kalmado character. Figured if I could get it back then whatever. Did chat and they asked me for either phone number, email used, or original product key. I couldn't recall phone or email so they said get back with them if I figured it out. Later I remembered where I bought it (Amazon) and could give them the key. Would be nice to have all old content unlocked and what not, but I honestly want to level everything from scratch. Only way I could think of having jobs back to 1 is to literally delevel them haha.
