Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy blehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Chapter was such a tease
It's amazing how the manga juggles what looks to be 3-4 plotlines at once; the tournament, the monster association, garou, and the various heroes dealing with garou and the monsters.
While the OPM does it well if you look at the series as a whole (ie, read it all at once), I feel like the pacing suffers a bit for it because of the inconsistent release schedule (and inconsistent length of each release).
I'll give you that but you can't equate release schedule with the presented content. The presented content for OPM is great and consistent regardless of the release/translation schedule. Bleach had consent content but suffered from "weekly" pacing issues. A lot of things made more sense when read as a whole or Volume to Volume. Ippo is another that with (previously) terrible pacing (I say previously because they seem to have gotten their shit together after over 1000 chapters).
I dunno, I think it's a fair criticism. Like this week's chapter of OPM was just 15 pages of a guy just talking about how he's strong and wants to have fun fighting other strong people. Someone down the line reading all at once isn't going to care or notice, but when we've got to wait 2+ weeks for a chapter and the next chapter happens to shift focus back to something else, chapters like this one can kind of kill the vibe. OPM is usually pretty good about not blue-balling people like Bleach used to but this kind of chapter would work better on a weekly release schedule I think.
I'm with Obsidian on this one. Some of these chapters would be okay under a weekly release, but OPM is so erratic it's kind of annoying to get blue ball chapters like this one. I'm still waiting for the supposed crazy strong monster that was seen walking towards the tournament like 100 chapters ago.
The one that totally fucked up Genos which probably no one will remember unless it's explicitly mentioned.
If I was a patient person, I would definitely read this after like 10+ chapters built up or something and it would be much more enjoyable, but I am not and have to read it every time we get a new chapters. This series will probably end up being amazing to reread once it is complete and you can just binge it all at once.
