Yeah it's been a while since I read this; I need to go check how this psychic woman monster got so so strong, or what she originated from, because at this point I just don't remember.
I like the semi Eva (Giant Rei) and the Vegeta Final Flash vs Cell vibes I am getting here though haha.
Additional thought: I'm surprised by the escalation here though. I assume once she gets put down by Garo a lot more martial arts or close up combat will happen as everyone tries to fight him. Agree that indeed this arc is becoming exhausting though, still somewhat a few threads hanging around to be resolve. At this rate we'll probably get the actual fight in 2022.
If Blast appears, I wonder if he addresses the God-Level threat, or defies what Drive Knight suggested and rushes to the defense of the unguarded Hero Assoc HQ should it fall under surprise attack. Shit, we still don't even know who the real mole is.
Dude should stop with the middle man and just straight release Hentai.
That aside, great chapter, even though OPM is all about the ridiculousness of Saitama, I do enjoy them letting other heroes have a reason for existing and fight and feel like you know, real characters. Looking forward to the chapter he makes it to the surface and presumably Garu/Whatever his name is.
I do wonder how they're going to spin Garou into this at the moment. So far he's been out for a bit, but still hasn't fully evolved into his final form yet. I suspect he will emerge and fight all the heroes present, before Saitama gets out of that pit? At some point I guess Tornado will tilt him to his ultimate form before doing battle with Saitama.
Then there's that sperm monster too from the original web comic that has a hand in it, but without rereading it I'm starting to wonder in what sort of different direction this will take.
One Punch Man will never work as a Live Action thing. Its way too over the top. Also, minor pet peeve of mine but if you're going to do English, do 100% English. Its awkward and out of place everytime Genos says "Sensei". Should be like "Master" "Teacher", or something. It just comes off as weebish.
So far, the only thing that comes to mind for live action anime that I've enjoyed was the Japanese Death Note movies. There might be more but I honestly can't think of anything else right now.
Also, I like Ryan Reynolds as much as the next guy but jesus christ, he doesn't have to be in everything. He doesn't even fit as Saitama. Saitama is apathetic, Reynolds is sarcastic. It just doesn't fit.
I don't think Reynolds would fit as him... Not even sure which actors today would lol.
Also, most Live Action adaptations of otherwise non-live action franchises (either Video games or Anime) I think are in terms of quality, bad. I'd have a hard time thinking of more than 1 good one. I liked the first Mortal Combat, cheese and all... Mario Bros is a horrible movie but a guilty pleasure... haven't gotten around to the ScarJo GITS, the first Resident Evil wasn't terrible but it wasn't "good"... I personally like the first Doom with The Rock, but its also not a "good" movie.
If anyones forgetting some real bangers, let me know, I've not watched all of them.
But yah, I really don't think OPM would translate to Live Action, at least not in the way Hollywood seems to do things... which is badly and Ignores source material 99% of the time. My guess is they wouldn't understand the appeal of Saitama or think Audiences would be too stupid to understand a "protagonist" as an Apathetic, unstoppable machine and probably either try to make him weaker to give him "conflict" or do some sort of Prequel that takes place between Crab and modern day Saitama, how he became so strong, etc. Probably fuck up his backstory too by explaining his god-like powers in a somehow less satisfying way than a normal training regime (which exists because its funny as heck).
