In the morning, Saitama tries to go to the nearest newsstand to pick up the day’s paper which has a BOGO coupon for steamed pork buns. On the way, he inadvertently defeats some monster Genos is struggling with. Genos follows Saitama after Saitama promises to make a Genos his pupil (but only because the BOGO coupon is 1 limit per person and Saitama wants to use two coupons.)
Interdimensional aliens invade. Saitama is still only trying to reach the store, but continuing to be hindered by irrelevant/annoying bullshit such as his coupon getting blown away into a a storm drain from a nearby explosion. While Saitama is in the sewer trying to recover his coupon, Genos is fighting against Boros.
Still in the sewer, Saitama accidentally uncovers a group of aliens trying to plant a bomb under the city. His coupon is stuck to the bottom of one of the alien’s feet and Saitama ends up defeating the aliens and destroying the bomb trying to recover his coupon and he rather aprubtly(thanks to the bomb exploding prematurely) ends up on the surface in the middle of the Genos and Boros fight, where Genos is about to be killed. Boros is directly in front of the store where Saitama wants to buy his steamed pork buns and so he easily defeats Boros just to get him out of the way, only to find the store has partially been destroyed and the steamed pork buns display crushed by rubble.
Later that night at Saitama’s house, Genos shows his appreciation by getting Saitama a fancy dinner. The movie ends with Saitama’s blank face saying “I just wanted BOGO steamed pork buns.”
The end.
Tone is the important thing. You can get away with a lot with the proper tone. Gotta get that perfect balance of silliness and awesome. There also needs to be something in the story that creates stakes the viewer will care about, so it’s very important you show Saitama being incredibly down on his luck as to maximize viewer sympathy. Show him also being a selfless guy, maybe by opening the movie with a scene where Saitama saves the world only to get completely ignored and credit going to someone else (King). And then show him get rejected from the hero association solely based on his looks. (“He’s bald? What kind of hero is bald? None! Get him out of here!”) You can cover the typical over the top anime fights and generic End-of-the-World stakes with the Genos side of things, but you also have to pair the two together. This can be done by Genos actually taking some advice Saitama had given him and making it succeed.
Get Stephen Chow and I'd be interested

Jesus fucking Christ I wish I didn’t read the chapter so I can reread it for the first time all over again lol.

This chapter may be the greatest chapter in manga history.
I just don’t see how anything in the history of ever tops this.

Quick question. Desperate for an answer if anyone can help me out here.

That ain't blood. That's fucking radioactive fallout rain. Him being on the planet is literally killing it. He's a walking Kaiju, belting out mass radiation simply by existing. This entire chapter is basically a reenactment of what it was like in Japan when the bombs went off.
Makes sense that if two Saitama ever got pissed and did a killer, serious punch, the planet would explode. Let's see what happens, lol.
Alrightttt
Retconning the living sit-down between Garou and Saitama for this might be worth it...

Edit: Nope, I was wrong.
It's honestly amazing how hype an entire page that's just a black panel with four words on it can be.
Thanks youtube thumbnails for spoiling me the last chapter before I actually read it.
