I like the animation changes, budget saving or not, the anime so far knows not to take itself too seriously. I thought to myself in one of the frames, "This looks just as if they colored in a manga panel! Cool." I like the sudden changes, and I don't put a lot of mind into whether it was for budget purposes or artistic vision. Kinda like when chibi scenes get thrown in all of a sudden in certain anime. I don't remember no one complaining about this scene:
