Can confirm that this guy is full of shit, the only packets relating to the poles are consistant across the board. The order in which the packets are sent is consistant across characters and irrelevant to which is correct. If a trick exists, it's nothing observable about the poles, more likely to do with the numbering(as they had no reason to number them or even include multiple otherwise).
I am not full of shit, just go into the zone and test it for yourself, stand ontop of every trigger after every spawn and the duration of the sound will be different. (some triggers will cut out short and some will give the full sound) so next time instead of an insult go test if first before opening your mouth after reading packets.
He said that he looked at the packets generating the sounds for different pillars and they were all identical in the relevant ways. So it is the same noise.
This still does not make me "full of shit" as i am telling the truth about the sound from experience, And yes it is the same noise but the duration of the noise is shorter or longer depending on the pillar you are standing on at the time of them spawning, i swear i am not pulling anyones leg but this fact is indeed true.
Okay, but you're objectively wrong. If the server doesn't give the client different information for the sounds effect used for the different pillars then there's no way that the sound could be different.
Then you can say i'm "objectively wrong" that's fine, but when i give out information on trying to help figure out how to pop Rancibus faster i am never "full of shit" as i am only providing information from first hand experience and we do seem to pop NM's more often by communicating and saying who had the longest duration of the sound, so be it luck or not it is working for us and more then 1 person on the pillar has said they heard the same duration of the sound.
This is a thread for sharing your vagary findings so if your here to troll and provide no help to this thread then buzz off cause nobody wants to read pages of petty troll posts while trying to find useful information as things are proven and disproven through testing and confirmation which help people see whats been tested and what hasn't been tested yet to find the right way to do something.![]()
Question. How exactly do you determine whose sound is the longest? Like does each person get out a stopwatch and time it?
We are on VOIP and say when our sound ends and try to pop the one who had the longest sound, This is true about the sound but then again it could be luck so were still testing as we pop Plouton's. And if anyone knows anything about Platemail droprate in other zones please speak up.
True but from what they tell me over VOIP, 2-3 people hear the same length of sound on the same trigger but we have only tried this around 20 times now and we get the boss within 1-3 triggers (sometimes 4) everytime now, so its working for us and were really hoping this is the key cause we literally tried looking at all the triggers and the only things we notice that are different is sometimes some triggers load faster then others and the orange glow you can sometimes see 1 trigger out of sync on the glow but that could be from lag on loading the triggers.
The packets are IDENTICAL. The only difference is the index they're initiating. The server does not give client any information to differentiate sound, so any difference you're hearing is not intended. It's most likely due to something like the client cutting out sound because of another sound coming in.
Never mind that 'always getting it within 1-3(sometimes 4)' is an expected outcome and you have no understanding of basic statistics.
If you come up with a plausible theory that's one thing, but you can prove 100% that any sound difference isn't intended by examining the server communications. Hence, shit ain't right dog.
I repeat, since the packets are identical any possible trick is a pattern not an observable difference.
Also, personal perception of sound over variable internet connections is one of the shittiest metrics I've ever seen something measured by.
the Vagary page is coming along slowly, got most of the drops listed, except for ones from Brash gate, if anyone knows all those
