Braggers and trolls aside who give little to no help on the topic of Vagary, i do have something i heard was true but not confirmed by me yet is when Plouton changes weakness i heard he gives off a certain animation (not the "!!" marks), so whether this was mentioned before or not, there is a lil more info for ppl who are reading for actual findings instead of trolls and braggers posting nothing that helps. so if the .dat miners wanna look for something other then farts to confirm there ya go!
he actually has an aura corresponding to his current element that surrounds him. it's sort of hard to notice unless you're right up beside him.
also it has to do with the fact that this "different length sound" theory is still going on this long after being debunked almost immediately by people who understand how FFXI's programming works. it's fine that you're trying to help with theories but you're getting massively butthurt and continuing to try to ship something that has already been proven wrong and just retaliate by saying LOL TROLL XD XDDDDD instead of just saying like "shit that sucks" and moving on
I see what your saying and thanks for confirming aura but its not that i'm trying to ship the sound theory its that i only pushed the fact that the sound does do that and that we tested every possibility as we came across them and gave my results which the community on this thread has concluded as false for being a good theory on poping Brash Gate NM's, now i do have a few other suggestions for checking .dats with Plouton, So we know you can't trigger a weakness till 89% or lower from what we have seen so far and when we trigger a weakness its a blue proc "!!" and when we nuke that weakness we get a red proc, now i will assume 1 proc gives a time extention on when he warps out on you but what would the red proc be? a debuff to make him weaker? and are there any other type of procs we can do like white or yellow? those are but a few questions that i have not seen answered on this thread so i'll try to ask as many as i can off the top of my head and maybe we can find some answers to make sure we know everything like when Plouton gives that aura can it be more then 1 color? and has anyone tried poping Plouton in a different hue order like 6step>magic kills>MB damage to see if it changes drop rates or has anyone tested with 20+ kills in every zone to see if platemail would drop better? all these questions and theories need answers.
But did you get the map from mining or fishing?
I've noticed that the red proc tends to (though not always) remove the encumbrance that you get from doing a nuke that heals him. In fact the only times I can remember it not doing that is the one time a couple of people hadn't been paying attention and did a good 10 healing nukes before stopping on 2 separate occasions in the same fight.
I'm not sure if it has been mentioned, but for those planning to merc Vagary, the drops are alliance based, not zone based.
So if a buyer wants to start shit and lot stuff they aren't supposed to you can just remove them from the alliance.
As for the red trigger removing encumberance, I think I can debunk that one.
On one of our runs Plouton changed it's weakness right at the skillchain which ended up in us healing him with 5 or 6 high tier magic bursts.
Needless to say that the we were encumbered for the rest of the fight and triggering the red !! (several times during that fight) didn't remove it.
Yes, that was quite painful indeed.
I think encumbrance has a set duration and is reset everytime you heal him, so if anyone wants to help me confirm this then that would be nice and as for the aura Plouton gives off i'm wondering where on his character model is the aura and does it give a color of his current element? if anyone can confirm this before me and before i do more Plouton's with my group then that would also be very helpful.
Wrong. directly proportional to the amount healed. This is why after a dustcloud you should "probe" for the weakness with small nukes and a gimp set.et duration and is reset everytime you heal him
Does anyone actually know if it has to be nukes to probe, or do the elemental dots like Burn, Rasp, Choke, etc. also work?
Do you have any type of a estimated figure for the duration of encumbrance for each proportional amount and if their is a cap? i have an idea but what do you mean by dustcloud? and by a gimp set does the damage you do matter in finding his weakness? like can a 0 damage or 1 damage nuke do it? cause we always try to nuke for around 200-500 damage when trying to proc.
Would be funny if that worked and also kept encumbrance on if its element shifted to one of the DoTs to heal it, but we have seen a COR use Wildfire during Fire weakness and it proced red "!!" so i would say you don't need nukes and that you just need the element in itself just to land whether it be ninjutsu or a avatar move or just a weapon skill.
I am specifically asking this for the probing part.
I am aware that all kinds of damage based on the weakness works in triggering the Red !!, I'd be utterly retarded if I would use dots for that.
Like I said it's not 100% but it's very often and is every single time since we started having only 1 person probe with T1. My theory is the amount you heal increases the duration and more healing just adds more to that (hence why the fight where it seemed like someone was just chaincasting and healing it tons we never lost it even after element changed a few times). Conversely the amount you do when you proc might effect how much is taken off. So if you only heal it a tiny bit then when you find element go balls out you should remove it
Probably referring to the dustcloud sp animation. Anyways I'd shoot for making sure your nukes would deal at least 1 dmg. Why? Because if your nukes should be doing dmg a 0 dmg will also tell you what element it just similarly to how healing it or actually hitting the weakness will. So that way you wont need to use as many different elements
I like turtles.
