Kimbrel and BJ..sorry, Melvin Upton Jr. traded to the Padres. They're just collecting ex braves. hopefully they took BJ for the sole purpose of releasing him.
Braves are gonna win like 30 games this year.

That was awful
Gonna be a rough next few years as a Braves fan.
Hope getting rid of that terrible BJ contract was worth losing the best closer in baseball. I guess it depends on the 2 prospects we got which i know little about.
BASEBALL
I guess what's the point in paying a closer 9mil this season if we're never gonna get to use him.
Nationals hosting 2018 ASG
Cleveland busy today
Big contract extension for Carrasco and Kluber
Heyward looking good early
Cubs looking bad in Game 1
I'm fine with our current direction honestly. The whiffs on Uggles and BJ just stung too much and we were never able to build an offense. Now with the Nationals peaking, we could delay the rebuild and cling to being a fringe wild-card contender. With Heyward's free agency coming up it made sense to start the rebuild now.
If you have Insider, Keith Law called it a huge win for Atlanta: http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/keit...r/post?id=3814
To summarize:
-ATL clearing money on a non-asset (Upton) and a high-risk one
-Quentin may have value as a DH somewhere, ATL already designated him for assignment
-Cameron Maybin is a fringe-average CF, better than anyone we have right now
-Matt Wisler is a ML ready SP prospect, looks like a solid mid-rotation starter with the ceiling of a strong #2
-Jordan Paroubeck (OF) is a 20 yr old OF, incredible athlete but raw
-ATL gets #41 pick in the draft
To add a legitimate pitching prospect, a potential everyday center fielder, a lottery ticket outfield prospect and a top-50 draft pick while clearing one unwanted contract and one high-risk one had to be a no-brainer for Atlanta as it continues to retool to compete in 2017.
At least we're getting something with all these trades i suppose.
I'm still bitter we traded Wainwright and it's been like 10 years.
I do feel for Freeman though.
Just found out lon Simmons, longtime broadcaster for the Giants, a's and niners passed away today. 91 years old.
Cubs bad. 0-162 incoming
Good, give us Maddon back then.
So the Padres refused to include Wisler in a Hamels deal but have no problem giving him away for BJ Upton and a very expensive reliever they don't need? I swear other GM's just straight don't want to deal with Amaro at this point, and I don't even know why he still has a job.
The Braves made out like bandits here even though they had to give up the best closer in the game (which is pointless anyway since they will suck ass for the next few years). Even though most of the returns from their trades were a bit underwhelming I wish the Phillies were more like them and be a little less obstinate on their demands.
Alt 162-0. Calling it.
in 161 game losing streak and please fire fredi gonzalez thx
but no seriously, I hope the season just doesn't get terrible. As much as it's good to look up on things, this year especially will be el-garbage-o
Had to throw in some positiveness there or fear Moss coming in and calling me a hater again![]()
