Oh you sweet summer children
For anyone who has the game, does the EXP boost from the gold bunny statue benefit the entire party? Or just the person equipped with it?
I didn't enjoy 3 when I first got it. Went back to it like 4 years later and it was amazing. Best times was doing all manual bouncing between 2-3 depending on effort level. Fayt/Maria OP as shit.
4 was hot lens flare particle effect garbage with no weight to anything, story gameplay cutscenes music sound literally everything. 5 looks the exact same while trying to be more like 3's aesthetic. Sounds too bad. Waiting for a deep sale on this one.
For whatever reason I think my brief period of FGC interest is what made SO3 stand out on my revisit to it, and what makes me hate 4/5. Can't really speak for 5 but 4's is no substance.
Is it just me or does the camera make anyone else sick?
Looks like it effects everyone's EXP. Now I'm just trying to figure out what the difference is between mastering a role through fighting vs leveling it up with SP??!?!![]()
That was going to be my exact question. I remember Fidel being ~30% in Attacker Lvl. 1, though when I bumped it to Lvl. 2 it dropped back to 0%.
And jesus, according to a strat guide Welch is a fatty. Shes shorter and weighs more than your other female party members.
Miki's got a little boob physics going on too, though its hard to tell through her clothes.
Early Impressions: Combat is a lot simpler, but I think I'm liking it a lot more than 4's. Glad Arte Cancel is back, and I can't wait to find the Homing Laser equivalent for SO5. I like the game so far even if it is a little shallow. The 'feel' is more towards SO3 with a little SO2 flavor, and I can appreciate it.
Early gripe: The camera and dashing. Why put dashing in if it doesn't really make you go that much faster or have a stamina meter attached to it? Just makes it hard to adjust the camera when you change orientation around corners.
If you're not too far past the opening beach area yet, get into a fight with gels, kill all but 1, set both you and Miki to manual control and just defend. You learn the Pacifist role at 30 consecutive guards and get a battle trophy at 50 consecutive guards.
Haha Emerson is straight up Captain Kirk.
I liked SO4's combat but it did feel like it was a little complicated just for the sake of being complicated. If SO5 is a bit simplified, that's fine by me.
I just started rocking 6 outta the 7 party members, so I hope I get some chance to solo shit soon and get those +_+
This being a good or bad game aside, how is it as a game to use to introduce my GF to more jrpgs? She loved Tales of Xillia 2 (and was surprisingly good at it, played on hard right from start). And enjoyed FF14 and the FF15 demo but she hasn't had much experience aside from that.
Is it a decent game for someone with no expectations going in?
So no word on the benefits/drawbacks of mastering roles vs leveling them up?
Put about 2 hours into is so far. It isnt a spectacular game but its a star ocean if you enjoyed 3 or 4 remotely you'll enjoy this one.
Game is kinda throwing me out of the loop with how it's started out with no cutscenes and jumping straight into things.
Before you leave the village I ran all the way to the entrance before they finished their dialogue about leaving without her. Had to stand there and wait till it finished then the mountain of text boxes appeared explaining shit
To this day I still lol @ people who play jrpg for story.
If you want a great story, go read game of thrones, weab.
Let the rest of us play jrpg for the right reasons, exploration, combat, side content, bonus dungeons, secret bosses, min max gear farming.
Ain't nothing gets me harder in life then entering a new town and checking out the equipment shop to see what new weapons they have for me to buy.
Fkn dead @ playing games for storyline. Nikka I got HBO for that.
