What OS do you use the most?

Sup guys. I've been a Windows guy since the early 90s (like 8 or 9 years old) and it's pretty much all I've ever known. I recently started testing out Ubuntu and it's really straight forward. Coming from Windows A LOT of things don't cross over but I'm getting it slowly. Learning the commands is the most challenging since I'm sure most things can be done without it but where's the fun in not learning them.

Anyway, my point was to find out what you guys used and how you rolled with your PCs or systems at work.

Not my call. We're using Macs that came out over a decade ago. The people in charge at my work are cheap as fuck. If it can run the software that we're running, thumbs up.

Windows 8.1 for home, anyone who is still sitting on win7 and talks about how its superior I just laugh at now these days. Can't wait for a full release of Win10

I was one of those. 8.1 wasn't as friendly to me as 7 was. I did a few trial runs with Windows 10 and I do like the feel of it more than 8.1 but that's kinda what also lead me to Ubuntu

I've tinkered with Linux a few times. Yellow Dog on my Bondi iMac, PS2 Linux Kit, Ubuntu and the occasional other distro.

At home Win7 on tower, 8.1 on laptop. At work we still mainly use 7 because our most important program has some issues on 8.1 (even though it should be fully compatible... <.<).
Work PC has dual-boot 7 and 8.1, but thanks to the mentioned issues I always boot to 7. When Win10 goes final I'll probably replace the 8.1 install and try again...

WinXP, 2k3R2 at home. Win7, 2k8R2, 2k12R2, a bunch of *nix flavors, and all mobile OSs at work. Have used Mac a handful of times, terrible experience. Win7/2k8R2 is my favorite combo.
Have basically used every OS there is, including mainframe, dos, pbx flavors, etcetc.

Used dos 5.0 to 6.22, windows from 3.1 to 8.1 and most anything inbetween, windows CE, mobile, and now phone OSs. Used Mac OS 7, 8, 9 on shitty school computers, and a few versions of X on intel macbooks from friends, and finally iOS from a handmedown iphone4. Also had uses of some linux distros in there, including red hat, debian, xandros, lindows/linspire, and raspian on the raspberry pi, and more recently various versions of android/aosp.

Getting used to the different environments was never an issue for me; I'm a nerd so I kinda like seeing what's different/new. All of it is increasingly dirt simple and most complaints I see from folks on modern OSs are dumb, but there's little point arguing over preferences.

At home, Windows 8.1 on my main rig. Also have 8.1 on Surface Pro, OS X 10.7 on Macbook (last rev it'll run), 10.10 on Mac Mini, and Server 2008 R2 on an old Core2.

At work, Mac Pro running 10.10 and whatever else I feel like or need in a VM. Also have PCs running 8.1 to use if needed, various servers, etc.

I've more or less had PCs and Macs since the mid 90s (prior to that, Apple II, then DOS/3.1), using most of the major versions of their respective OSes (not sure I ever used ME, and barely used Vista). I've used various Linux flavors, FreeBSD, Solaris, BeOS, and so on briefly, or for specific things, but not as primary OSes.

Why the hell are that many people still on Windows XP? Good lord people.

Windows 8.1 overwhelmingly for me, both at home and at work.

Phone is Android, and I have an iPad. Will likely drop my Moto X for whatever the next iPhone is.
