Those aren't the stock game icons.
Underneath those yellow symbols on Distract I and II, they have the ice color.
Quick question, I had told way back in the day that enfeebling spells which are black magic were effected by dINT rather than dMND. Was I misinformed, was that changed or does that even matter now since stat vomit on ilevel gear tends to add huge amounts of both at the same time?
It'd be kind of nice to know if Frazzle and Distract are INT based for magic accuracy despite being MND based for potency.
As far as we know, while MND affects Frazzle and Distract potency, INT affects their magic accuracy instead, which makes them harder to gear for than most enfeebles.
They wanted to make it so blind and blind ii would get increased potency from dmnd. Then someone pointed out to them that those spells use int for macc, and they walked it back. Frazzle and distract do get potency from dmnd and probably do use int for macc. If we look at the March update, they flat out increased the potency of blind and blind ii.
"The effects of Blind and Blind II have been increased and the duration is now fixed at 180 seconds."
This was probably how they decided to do it instead of using dmnd.
Also, they increased the macc of frazzle and distract.
"The accuracy of Distract, Distract II, Frazzle, and Frazzle II has been increased."
Probably to compensate for gearing for mnd. Honestly I haven't really noticed a difference in land rate though.
On that note, did anyone ever test blind and blind II's new potency? I can't recall seeing the data, but maybe I missed it. Also, this is probably a stupid question, but for the new job point category for red mage, "quick magic effect", the mp cost reduction only applies when you use spontaneity? It won't trigger with a quick magic gear proc, right?
The testing level is over 9,000!!!
Did some Blind and Blind2 testing. I found that Enfeebling Skill did nothing. It is all about dINT.
Blind:
Spoiler: show
From this data we see that potency changes every 4 dINT until you get below -40, then potency changes every 8 dINT. Formula:
Potency = (1/4)(dINT + 80) for dINT > -39; Potency = Floor (1/8)(dINT+120) for dINT < -40; potency caps at 5 and 50.
Blind2 - 1 Merit:
Spoiler: show
From this data we see that potency changes every 2 to 3 dINT. Formula:
Potency = Floor (3/8)(dINT + 120); potency caps at 15 and 90.
Blind2 - 2 Merits:
Spoiler: show
From this data we see that potency changes every 2 to 3 dINT just like with 1 merit, everything just shifted up by 1. Formula:
Potency = Floor (3/8)(dINT + 123); potency caps at 16 and 91.
Blind2 - 3 Merits:
Spoiler: show
From this data we see that potency changes every 2 to 3 dINT just like with 2 merits, everything just shifted up by 1. Formula:
Potency = Floor (3/8)(dINT + 125.5); potency caps at 17 and 92.
Blind2 - 4 Merits:
Spoiler: show
From this data we see that potency changes every 2 to 3 dINT just like with 3 merits, everything just shifted up by 1. Formula:
Potency = Floor (3/8)(dINT + 128); potency caps at 18 and 93.
Blind2 - 5 Merits:
Spoiler: show
From this data we see that potency changes every 2 to 3 dINT just like with 4 merits, everything just shifted up by 1. Formula:
Potency = Floor (3/8)(dINT + 130.7); potency caps at 19 and 94.
Conclusion: Blind 2 almost doubles the accuracy down of Blind in the higher tiers, doubles in mid tiers, and about triples in lower tiers; however, nothing significant will be gained by more than 1 merit.
And in case anyone was wondering: 1 merit Blind2 with capped dINT, empy body, empy hands, and saboteur gave 216 accuracy down. 5 merits and same setup gave 220 accuracy down.
Wow, it might actually be possible to evade things again with that and geo-accuracydown
stack idris accuracy down and eva up and you are looking at 310 accuracy down an d 90 evasion up. blstered its -400 acc and 180 eva+. can anything physical hit you at that point?
Even level 1 mobs hit us, so yes, albeit at the capped minimum rate.
Someone reported stacking incredible amounts of acc down/evasion up on a Ninja against that bunny to absolutely no effect.
Monsters have impressive base stats at high levels.
The T3 Eschan NMs have something like 1400 evasion, so if their accuracy is close to that high, stacking evasion for more than the time given by Bolster might be a futile effort except on lower tiers.
Yeah design criteria for high end nm accuracy since abyssea has seemed to be autocap hit rate against players in the evasion sets even when flashed
we had geo slow, Acc down on the rabbit, blind, Impact, etc and we did have Ninja roll, evasion + and all that jazz, I think we covered everything we could and that bunny still has very high acc, even with Intervene it still has super acc. and it was tearing through ninja shadows.
