The last fight can be a little glitchy.
Spoiler: show
The black bubbles on the field seem to have various effects. I know for certain that I and Ifrit got amnesia from one which required repositioning. There was also a Regen/Refresh/Regain effect--not Embrava, but individual buffs that all expired at the same time--I got somehow that I couldn't trace the source back to, but that could have been from one of Iroha's specials.
the cutscenes seemed less variable for this final chapter. my mule who has barely touched ToAU (just enough to progress through chapter 2) got the exact same CS revealing the motives of Razfahd long before he would have found out via mission progress.
More final fight glitches:
Spoiler: show
Making it very difficult to do this fight when the AI is so fucking buggy.

Dark orbs are called Darkness, although Avatars and Iroha's AoEs can hit them they cannot be directly targeted or damaged. Each Darkness produces a different aura (Amnesia, Slow+Addle, Gravity, Silence, Dia, Bio...). They start to pop one by one after the message "Gather..." and will all depop after the message "...And spread!" when Expunge is used. Expunge power is probably tied to the number of Darkness sacrificed.
Waning Vigor does damage based on how much she absorbed in that phase. After I did a 16k WS right when she turned it on, Waning Vigor did 6000 with 50% DT.
I had slightly mixed feelings about Reisenjima because all the narrow paths really put a dent into my desire to explore, but I'd say the missions were a wonderful finish for the FFXI-storyline.
I was happy to see that the animators once again got to display how much they've improved over the years, but the final battle was simply stunning.
Wonderful BGM, all the pictures flashing up around the arena and the best part was probably that half the server seemed to be trying to enter. Seeing all of them unsuccessfully trying to enter by themselves instead of just building a party with all the other people there was a little awkward, but that made teaming up with people from Europe, Japan and North America all the better. A ragtag crew of complete strangers going in there, being friendly, having a hard time due to the unusual setup followed by an awesome recovery and eventual victory - I really couldn't have wished for a more fitting finale, as that is what FFXI has been all about for me in the past 11 years. It's great that they also incorporated Trusts into the storyline, but no solo-fight with five trusts by my side could even hope to come close to the fun I had with this particular party. I truly am grateful that I once again got to experience this.
Does SE have lyrics + translations for the last song like they did with SoA?
Can someone help me out with this please?
I finished 'The Man Behind the Mask' and got the "Rhapsody in Mauve" ki. My mission log currently says my current mission is "Uncertain Futures". BGwiki tells me to zone into any starter city zone with a mh and old wiki says for me to visit Alzadaal Undersea Ruins/Empyreal Paradox. I've done it all but nothing is giving me a cut scene. At first, I thought there was a jp midnight wait, but I waited and I'm still not getting a CS. What am I doing wrong?
Nevermind, I figured it out. You need to drop/use my zeid/tenzen/prishe2 trust ciphers, get another one from zoning into whitegate, then zone into a starter city.
looks like the only way you'll lose is if time runs out. Iroha keeps casting Arise on you. First attempt on NIN/DNC, timed out at around 2%. it looks doable. trusts: brygid, joachim, ulmia, koru-moru, kupipi
About the dimensional compass. You get it from Seth I believe (like mentioned before) just before you head to WoE the first time in chapter 3. Since it said it points to a Maw or something like that, just for gits and shiggles i went to batallia maw to see if anything happened and nothing.
Also about not seein the KI gained, I have been dual boxing and my mule keeps not seein key items gained for some reason here and there. the compass was one of these that he didnt see. So maybe its some kind of glitch occassionally. Just like the one time i fought Quetzl my main recieved 3 stones plus CP and it said in the chat log, and my mule got a message just before it died saying "you cannot attack this you dont have a level cap status" and no drops or CP gained in chat log. I check his invo and he has a sanctity necklace and one stone.
my experience was she casted arise after the first round of deaths, raising 2-3 people, but none afterwards. She herself reraises though, she died 2-3 times for us and got up each time
It looks like if you die out of range from Iroha, she doesn't raise you. I died 4 or 5 times near her and she raised me every time.

Spoiler: show
I went with a group of noob friends who deactivated long time ago.
We won with only me left alive, with very little HP left.
Didn't even notice if Iroha was still alive back then, but she never cast raise a single time on my friends, and they died repeatedly.
I think I found the perfect combination of trusts to allow any DD/DNC to solo it. Amchuchu, Seltheus, Arciela 1, Prishe 2, Apururu UC. Amchuchu will tank and cast Bar spells each time CoD casts a spell. The other 4 will keep everyone healed. the /DNC is just for insurance just in case. you cant control them and they will keep attacking when CoD starts to absorb damage. just let them. you should be able to deal enough damage to counter it.
I tried a bout 2-3 dual box attempts on CoD fight unsuccessfully. I remember her raising both me and my whm mule (but i kept RR4 on him so maybe she never did) I then had a friend help me out and i noticed that Iroha would only raise the leader of the party. We tried with different leaders each time. If i died as pld trusts were gone. if friend as blm used trusts and they died she wouldnt be able to resummon til she died and she died one time in all attempts i think. My whm ended up being the right trust summoner and was the only one that got raised that fight.
