I think tiger levels up whenever it roars... so pretty much it is just a race to see when you can down it.
we trio'd ours with PLD, GEO (Idris), blm but nuking fire, we also had trusts out to fill in the rest

Must have been a good BLM also, cause we tried with exact same setup and got it down to 10% then we wiped cause it had roared alot of times.
PLD wasnt even fighting so didnt feed it TP, just stood and tanked with shield and keept hate.
But i cant help to think there must be some way to stagger it and keep it from levelling up.
There's supposedly supposed to be staggers for all the NMs... not that they make any sort of sense... and they're kinda weird and gimmicky... Unlike abyssea or VW procs.
So it could be anything from WSing during Roar, during a TP skill, a specific type of WS or SC depending on the day, MB a certain element, WSing from a certain angle/direction, there's too many of these types of scenarios to keep going... you get the idea.
Though there could be a universal stagger system that we haven't sussed out yet too... though if there is one, it doesn't seem to be one that's simple like abyssea/VW's was.
Doing any kind of damage during it's animation will cause it to use roar and level up on it's next TP move. It can also use roar as a normal TP move, and level up, whenever it has TP. This is a piss easy fight if you bring as few melee as possible. Last night we must of done 10 or 12 of these, lost count, with either a PLD or RUN tank, GEO magic buffs and some combination of SCH / RDM / Mythic COR as damage dealers, also had a WHM though that seemed a bit unnecessary. Geo does magic attack up, magic defense down, PLD holds it without engaging, then the nukers go nuts while trying not to nuke after it starts "reading" it's next TP move. You'll still get a few level ups but it won't be anywhere near as bad, and it should be dead in about 3 min. At once point our COR did a 50K leaden salute with the RDM doing 10~13K water nukes and it just melted.
For the fire monkey, bring a THF/RUN and use water runes, keep as few melee as possible on it and use similiar strategy as behemoth, blow it up. These things have HP that scales with the number of players present, which kinda sucks.
has anyone tried to paralyze the tiger?
Edit: wait I'm being silly SE liked to do goofy things like Blind lowering Enspell dmg on that floating eye, and effecting the Peiste in delve. to stop a tiger from roaring maybe we have to Silence it
Landed Distract III / Frazzle III / Addle II / Silence / Paralyze II / Slow II / Blind and just for sh!ts and giggles, Poison II. None prevented him from using road and leveling up, though silencing him prevents him from casting and you thus you won't trigger a roar from damaging him during that animation.
We've done around 10 in the past few days GEO BST BST and I can't say I've ever seen him roar more than 4 times. We don't do anything special. GEO usually pops and we just ready it down, then hold it until petrify wears off GEO so he can chaac belt tag it then we finish it.
I can't remember him ever leveling up before his first perfect dodge or before 50% but that could just be me not paying attention.
I think less is more in here. Take a tank, take a GEO/COR/BRD/RDM, and take a DD. Fill in with trusts if bored. Formula works for pretty much all T1 and T2 I can think of.
Have seen it level up at 96%, didn't 2hr and it was right after it cast a spell. The THF and SAM had it it while it was casting. I've also seen it level up during PD, we had hit it with a nuke while it was reading something and a few seconds later it roared. It's really a big race to kill it before it's had the opportunity to roar too many times, limiting the number of auto-attackers greatly reduces the number of times it roars.I can't remember him ever leveling up before his first perfect dodge or before 50% but that could just be me not paying attention.
Then tell them to not engage?
I find telling someone not to do anything is rather difficult... its like Sath telling me not to roll on a 6 but I really want to hit the 11

yeah i did most NMs lately with me (GEO) my mule (RDM) and my friend (SAM) called tank trust (amcuchu) healerr trust with pro/shell and Ulmia. i slap Vex on mob and some buff on the melee, my RDM mule hastes 2 the SAM friend and i entrust whatever. stuff is dead in usually 3 min with SC ----> MB nukes from my side. Constant SCs from SAM with MBs from my sides drop the NM very fast

was as disturbing to me as it seems odd to you. i was under its tail, right between the 2 butt cheeks, so unless it instant turn on me then back and no one saw anything, i couldnt miss the SA positioning.
first ws i did for slightly above 300 dmg, i thoght i made a wrong move, that maybe i got one hit to land the forced crit.
i did a 10k TA rudra right after and once SA was up again, i really checked and made sure, rudra did slightly under 280 stacked with SA.
rolled back, that ws or the one before, no crit hit to kill the SA effect, no paralyze, SA did fire off and tp was expended.
Was it ever said how to upgrade the old VW bodies to their newer forms?
