Blurple Behemoth Bashing 101 - Is it even winnable?

The new anniversary event is live and seems to be effectively unbeatable. It's divided into two parts.

Part one: you have 60 seconds to link skillchains from five NPCs. First one does a random weapon skill, then the next one gives you two possible weapon skills and the ability to pass. You have to earn 20 points divided by 1 for tier 1, 3 for tier 2, and 5 for tier 3 to officially pass. Because of animations, you can't do more than ten weapon skills and have to rely on the game to give you good choices. It also expects you to have memorized the full skillchain chart for ~100 weapon skills and to be able to recall it instantly. It's technically possible, but you're at the whims of the random number generator. After you slog through 100 lifetime points to get a pity pass, you go to...

Part two: a Behemoth is outside the city. In order to damage it, you get 60 seconds to do a particular objective that is extremely unlikely. Some I've seen include: do 15 skillchains, do 8 detonation skillchains, and use 80-150 weapon skills (seems to scale with the number of players present so you cannot get more than ~65% the requested number). Even if you took away the other players spamming whatever and preventing any skillchains from happening at all, there are also NPCs that are spamming random weapon skills with no rhyme or reason.

So, has anyone actually won this yet? If so, please post your experience.

It's much easier if there's less people, as the required goals for objectives goes down too. Just wait for people to get bored, and you not only don't have 15 people mucking up everyone else's skillchains, but you only need 3/6.

First part isn't as hard as you make it seem. The ranked people are in the 30s. 20 was fairly easy.

And no it isn't scaled to be impossible though certainly easier with less most the time. Like with 2 people afk at the spot we won the ws one 90% of the time. The general skillchain ones got won a decent amount of the time when some people stopped ws or used useful ones with multiple elements or such. People seemed pretty smart about liquidation ones using right moves. Also the npcs seem to be somewhat smart too like when it asks for an element they tend to do that one though I don't think they are actually helping or hurting since many a time a skillchain should've worked with them and didn't. Almost think they are there more for a guide of how to skillchain. After getting the heroism 10 times you get the cipher. After killing the behemoth you get the clock

Right now, on Odin, all of the Behemoth pops have like 10 people afk outside Meteor range, but inside the range to increase objective amount. Until we get like 30 more people to do the WS count objective, or those people finally figure out that they're making the job harder, I don't think it's possible to finish the event right now.

You also keep your Heroism rank after you defeat a behemoth, so that helps the grind a bit. I have only zoned, I haven't logged out, so I don't know if you keep your rank after logging.

To corroborate with dasva, when you get to level 10, it just says "Heroic", then you talk to the moogle to get Kupofried's cipher.

The meteor spell only does 10% of your maximum HP for damage, so you won't die from it, so don't waste time with cures or waltzes.

Actually you just need to know that it goes Axe>Katana>Staff>Sword>Marksmanship/Archery>Goblin

I've never had it come up differently, other than the ranged dude swapping between Marks and Archery

Which nation was that? Sandy is GAxe > Polearm > Club > Sword > Dagger > Goblin. Made for some easily remembered chains like Full Break > Wheeling Thrust > Black Halo for Light and if the dagger user had Exenterator listed you could two step Light with Goblin's Goblin Rush.

But that second part, holy shit, it really shows how dumb some people are.

This is quite literally the dumbest event I have ever seen.
What a complete waste of time.

The requirements could be literally "do 1 skillchain" and most of the time people still wouldn't pull it off.

So what does this mean? Pick a behemoth site, and go to the other two nations. ask all the active players there to go to your choice of behemoth, explain about the 200 ws cap. the amount of active players shoots up well past the 200 ws needed, progress is made, everyone goes home happy. Worked perfectly for me. :D

this worked excellent put my mule in jeuno to shout for windurst behe to amass 60 people and just obliterate it during the 200 WS part, kupofried mine wwwwwwwwwwwwww

Well it is flawed in that the NPCs spam ws as do the PCs. If you get over the threshold of a few players it seems better to just exploit the one objective you can hit with "too many".

Definitely works, broke latent on Pick of Trials when trying to get people to just use Bora Axe, Jinpu, Dancing Edge, etc.
