Most the time, I know that's true, though there have been a few occasions when people have said shit that really does sting. And generally when something really bothers me I do ask people to stop - though they generally don't, so I just stop posting for a bit and go do something else.

Why is it bullshit? Everyone should be able to be alone if that's what they choose. I just don't have the energy to go through the entire dating rigamarole again. I'm not interested. And if I make that decision for myself, who the fuck are you to judge me? Is it hurting you that I choose to be alone?

For those of you who care, which is probably none of you, I am no longer one half of a relationship and I have decided that I am no longer looking for or in need of a companion. I've spent a lot of time alone in the past few months, and I am completely comfortable with being by myself. I've traveled abroad by myself, I go to concerts by myself, sporting events, restaurants. I live by myself.

For a long time, I wasn't able to appreciate the value of doing things by myself. I was scared, or something, I don't know. But in the last several months, I have finally recognized that I can be alone, and it's going to be okay. So while I am still, by most standards, young, I have made the decision that I am no longer in pursuit of "the one," or the "happy ending" because those simply do not exist and for the first time in my life, I'm actually okay with that.

Bring on the cats.

Wow.....just wow. Its ok to stop looking, but don't completely close the door on finding someone. If you want to be alone, that's ok, there is nothing wrong with that. But to completely close the door, seems like you are punishing yourself.

Yet there are people out there who are quite happy being single and just doing what they want. I've known a few myself. Just because you think it's bullshit and not good doesn't mean that it should be that way for everyone. You are the person that if anyone has a difference of opinion, you have to show them how wrong they are. You are like NinjaLotter, but without the funny.

I'm pretty sure Aks made the post knowing there'd be some out there that would immediately declare her a lesser person for not seeking out a relationship. I know enough women who've received similar flak for not being interested in the dating scene, popping out kids, or whatever else is "expected" of them out of life. From what I have gleaned of Aks' life over time is, aside from past relationship mistakes, she's in a position where finishing schooling and landing a good job are more sensible first steps on the rest of her path. And I think we all can agree that dating can be both financially expensive and emotionally draining, which can affect performance in both work and school.

Take some you time. Ignore the haters and/or jokeers.

Id say while there are plenty of times it happens. I'm not that guy who has to tell people they are doing it wrong. I do completely take the laissez faire sort of approach often.
Im not saying her opinion is wrong I already stated I just think its bs (in regards to her if that's not clear). Now suddenly it's about people being fine single and their ways of life when I didn't say any of that nor inferred it.
