How high are you bro
How high are you bro
What if the set laws of physics as we know them altered? Things along the lines of the speed of light being faster or slower, water turning into ice contracting instead of expanding, gravity forces changing, the planet's poles shifting, the number of electrons in the shells of an atom go up or down...crap like that.
Has anybody ever tested if the partial hydrogenation of oils (trans fats) could be the next fuel for vehicles? I know water cells exist already. Still hasn't quite caught on yet.
What if replicators (from Star Trek) actually existed? How many of our problems would be solved? Hunger would be gone. How many new problems would start? I've always wanted a holodeck. All the games we play now, in there. I could see people abusing the Fast Travel feature of Bethesda's games. I'd imagine the trolls of CoD games being even worse.
If I could get one super power granted, I'd go for the ability to grant/remove super powers to myself and others. You want to fly? Done. You're abusing the hell out of it and being a massive dick to people? Undone. Hope you weren't too high or going too fast at the time. Quicksilver speed (via Future Past) would be awesome. That was my favorite part of the movie. /rrt
I think I'm going to make bumping this thread a bannable offense.
One thing I've never understood about the Holodeck is how they never eventually bumped into the walls.
Why can you drink a drink but you can't food a food
Can we just close this down now?
My understanding is that the scene would always adjust so you wouldn't bump into a wall. The only problem I had with that is that if you have two people in the room and they start walking in different directions, I'm assuming you'd eventually bump into something.
That was the original explanation, but exactly because of your scenario they had to go back to the drawing board.
Also, in later seasons/shows, instead of the holodeck being a perfect square room like in TNG, they made it have little nooks along the walls just to hold people who split off.
