There are quite a few people that actually wear the SJW term as a badge of honor.

    Usually people like this:

Brianna Wu, Srhbutts (I forget her real name), Anthony Burch, and so many more actively say they are proud of the SJW label that they're Social Justice Knights defending the world from privileged dragons and whatnot. Check out twitter some time.

These men who complain about the friend zone seem to think that the only reason to talk to or be nice to a woman at all is to get into her pants, and then act like pissbabies when they don't get it. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. I'm so tired of this rhetoric because it is absolute bullshit. The fuck do you know about men's experience with the friend zone?

    P.S.
Nice use of shaming language. Is it any wonder you get painted as the stereotypical feminist? You walk the walk and talk the talk.

So when you complain about being put in the friend zone, you're not upset because a woman you were interested in and with whom you'd invested time (and possibly money) didn't want to have sex with you?

Because I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it is. I'm not calling it anything it's not. Women aren't obligated to be interested in you simply because you are nice to them. Sorry.

Okay, fine. It's not always about the sex. But that still doesn't mean that women are obligated to be emotionally invested in you just because you are being nice to her and doing friendly things with her. That's not how it works. Most of the friend zone bitching I have seen (and yes, this is anecdotal evidence) has been boys/men angry that they couldn't niceguy their way to some pussy (EDIT), but I will concede that no, it isn't always about sex.

Wow. Women aren't obligated to become romantically involved with a man. Fucking mind blown. This would be some seriously ground breaking shit if it was 50,000 B.C. Pearls of wisdom from internet-feminism.

You're fairly callous about it, did you forget that men are people too? It's not just because "they wont have sex with me".

The reason why the friendzone hurts people so much (of both genders) is the feelings behind it
At first you're friends, or maybe just acquaintances, or you just saw them playing basketball while they were up to no good. The relationship starts somewhere.
Maybe you share some interests that you talk about, maybe you just like their style and you introduce eachother to new things. A bond starts to grow.
Sometimes it develops slowly over time through a tight friendship. Or, sometimes right away you realize "Wow, I love this person" right away.
Suddenly you realize yes you are interested in that person. What a wonderful time to be alive. There's a person I like, they're great, and they seem to not hate my guts maybe they like me too?
You agonize over it. You write about it in your diary. You think about all the great things that could happen. But what if she doesnt like me? It takes ages but eventually you get up the courage to ask them out.
Or worse, maybe you dont. Maybe you agonize over it too long and you become the friend. "I'm so glad I have you as a friend", "You're like a brother to me", "She's one of my best friends, just another one of the guys!". There's been movies covering all 3.
You get rejected. Maybe you put your heart out on the line and they said no to your face. Or it was a passive rejection, where it becomes clear you dont mean the same thing to them they mean to you.
All that emotion involved it builds up over time and your heart breaks and you feel shitty. It's all the same pain of having a breakup before it even happens.

This happens to everyone. I'm surprised you think that you think this is some sort of misogynistic thing. What was your childhood like without friends talking about who likes what and worrying about petty bullshit that wont mean anything years down the line? I'm so incredibly shocked that you dont understand this because these are common tropes in all types of media from books, movies, TV shows and more. You must be some sort of psychopath to not understand what it would feel like for someone to be rejected like that.

I've never been in the friend zone (thank god), but I do have empathy. And just because I've never personally experienced the friend zone doesnt mean I automatically discount other peoples lives and experiences.

Yes, there are assholes out there who over react. Who believe they're entitled to some pussy because they sent that bitch a smiley face; and we all know bitches love smiley faces. But you're forgetting those people are assholes. That's their whole thing. You shouldnt discount everyone's experiences based on that one asshole you met or read about on the internet. Are you so cynical and jaded that you automatically assume the worst of literally every human being?

Can't we just all agree that the 'friend-zone' terminology is stupid as hell and should be dropped from the English Language (and other languages in general) completely?

Just like you complain about everyone comparing you to feminazis and throwing you in with people you dont agree with, maybe you should recognize that there are bad actors in other groups too. I've had to be there for that guy who worked up the courage to finally say something after 10 years of knowing a girl. He didnt EXPECT her to give it up. That's why he was devastated. The friendzone isnt a specific "that bitch owes me" it can happen to normal not assholes too.

Good! You are one of the few people who I think has an open enough mind to get educated and possibly change your perspective.

The "friend zone" is a disgusting term men use to illustrate that they don't view women as anything but potential fucks, and when they don't get it
No, "friend zone" exists because men are told by a friend, "Why can't my lover be more like you?" Because dudes who are told by a friend, "Man, you are exactly the kind of person I should be with," and then they go bang the jerk who gives them chlamydia. It's not a matter of entitled-- it's an absolute bewilderment that, "Wow. You want someone EXACTLY LIKE ME, just so long as he isn't me?" We don't *GET* the thinking. It's like going interview for a promotion, and they tell you, "Yeah, you have all of the qualifications we've been looking for, you've been loyal to our company for years, and we hope you'll stay on. But we're giving this promotion to a felon who sent in a resume written in crayon, because he has a motorcycle." THAT is what the friend zone is. It's not ASSUMING that we're right for a gal: it's being told, by her (and often by her girlfriends), that a dude's right for her, in every possible way, except that he's a friend. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?!

Now, I am the first to admit: a lot of fat, slovenly jerkwads who are little more than lustbots in their parents basement overuse the term. They ASSUME they're perfect for a gal, that what they're doing is enough, but they never get that hint from the gal herself. It's the same as folks who get bitter over not being hired, or their super-avant-garde emo poetry not being heralded as the greatest literary achievement since Phoenicia. They are bottom-dwellers (whether male or female), who just throw out excuses for their own inadequacies, and instead shift that inadequacy to someone else. But that's not the "friend zone". That's the bitter frustration of overweening and unjustified pride.

Why? It's an adequate terminology to describe the situation. It's gotten a bad rap due to people misusing it but words are words. The friend zone leap off the page of the urban dictionary and stab you. If we cut it out of the language we would just have a phrase to mean what a single word means.

No, I don't see it like that, where you enter a relationship with somebody and then begin to develop feelings for them. I view the people that I'm referring to as the types who actively seek out this type of relationship and put some time investment into it for the sole sake of getting some. And yes, to use your words, those people are assholes.

The term is just ... it has a lot of negative connotations to it, because of how prevalent it's become in society and how women feel betrayed for trusting these men with whom they've shared a genuine friendly connection and then who suddenly lash out because the woman isn't interested. I'll admit that we are thinking of two vastly different situations.

I guess as a guy who's dealt with it somewhat, it just brings up bad memories is all. And I feel like a real friend who knows you well enough and knows your feelings well enough wouldn't be a real friend if they just strung you along, I suppose, but that's just my view on it. I guess if there has to be a term for the situation, it can work, but eh. I'm just jaded.

Friend zone to me is a Joras Game of Throne meme. I think you people are taking it way too seriously, to the point of it being comical.

So your view is the entire spectrum of all possible experiences that could possibly happen? This is the exact type of reasoning that the radical-SJWs use to discount any kind of argument they dont like because they cant handle the cognitive dissonance of their own actions. Yes, I have experiences you dont therefore I'm right about all possible matters related to this subject regardless of anything you might say what so ever.

I would like to point out that you are the only one that is making this gendered. Everyone else seems to be pointing out that this goes both ways. Trust me, it does.
Women get "friend zoned" in the manner you're speaking of and are cunts about it too, just FYI.
