Since I can't seem to find a confirmation I might as well ask here, does having a +1/+2 Ring restrict you from invading/being summoned by people that don't have them?

Doesn't seem like it, the only restriction for invasion is general soul level and the level of your highest weapon.
im using a black blade +6 and i am awful at pvp. I might go back to Uchi cuz it has a thrust
i'm using the dragonslayer axe and yesterday i was pretty sure a guy with shield only was gonna beat me
also to get pale tongues i have to invade? i cant just summon a red dude and beat that ass?
For PVp I'm using Dark Blade +10 and Greatshield of Glory +3. That mixed with over 250 Stamina, most people haven't been able to kill me
Best katana's are prolly Bloodlust (mound makers), Black Blade, and Darkdrift (Yuria of Londor).
Chaos Blade does crazy damage, but you have to deal with the whole hurting yourself at the same time thing.
I did a bit of PVP, hadn't done it in years, since DaS, I played unembered all the time because I hate getting invaded, had horrible experiences in DaS as most invaders would just stand by enemy mobs or run to them trying to make me agro and then whoop my ass alongside 'em, annoyed me to no end lol.
Anyways, to my surprise I won 6 out of 6, I either got people horrible at it or I'm not as bad as I think I was, but It's most likely that I got summoned by people who suck.
The last win was pretty funny and ended in like 15 seconds, got an estoc r1 spammer, poked me through 1/4 of my HP right at the start (why the hell does the estoc stagger right away?) and rolled back, when he closed in for more pokes he ate a charged 2H R2 and died.
STR weapons may not be the best, but they are for sure the most fun to play with.
Estoc players are the worst. They're generally all horrible players from what I've seen, but estoc is frustrating enough they can still get some wins.
I have an estoc to deal with an estoc, best combo I've seen is estoc + havel's shield, so much dumb shit I can't believe he lost. It is a good weapon though and you can kill basically everyone with it (same with Dark Sword) if you're actually good.
Punish bad rolls, short weapons, slow weapons, any advance, attack behind shield and get at least 2 hits in a combo with barely any stamina loss. Shit's getting nerfed so hard.
But nothing will beat a locked off charged R2 from a heavy weapon just wrecking fools. I wanna play with magic more in PVP but so far it's been absolute shit unless I'm invading and being a dick. Spell speed being tied to DEX is fucking dumb when I need at least 50 int/fth and like 30 atn, and it's not like there's amazing dex casting weapons aside from like the rapier that doesn't even cast spells.
This is probably why the meta will likely end up being kinda high. Magic users need so much stat investment to even get started, whereas most builds with melee weapons are usually gtg before the 100s.
I'm giving Old Wolf Knight GS a spin for the my new playthru, but that weapon uses so much goddamn stamina per swing both of it's effects are kinda worthless.
Isn't there a ring that considerably cuts down the cast time? I'm not well versed in caster builds so I don't know if there's room for that ring.
Really wish they just normalized or scaled down levels/gear for certain matchmaking to improve the situation for Watchdogs and Bluebros. Only Aldritch Faithful seems to work and it works so well I can't go more than like 2 steps without invading.
Is it likely From will ever do anything, or has their stance in past games been to ignore the issue?
There is but it's hardly significant on anything powerful and barely noticeable on the things you generally use (soul arrow/spear). Having said that there isn't a lot of options for casters so you might as well use it.
Sage Ring, Clutch, Farron and I'm blanking on the last one (probably Dragon Crest), and all that serves to make you even squishier than before.
They do stuff, just randomly so who knows if they'll fix what you want. They changed the balancing on weapons recently and fix bugs, but they did the same on Bloodborne without really changing much.
I wouldn't count on it but you never know.
Getting Pale tongues is turning into such a pain in the ass. Anytime a fight goes poorly for someone I invade, they run to either a boss door or the bonfire and summon phantoms. Getting really fucking sick of it
I gave up on pale tongues, playerbase is so goddamn soft with all these casuals the game drew in.
Maybe 1 in 10 they'll actually fucking fight, otherwise it's going into a fog gate, running away to find summon signs, or just straight up d/cing.
It sucks, I greatly enjoy those fun 1 on 1 fights. I actually had a dude hiding at the Pontiff arena. Anytime a phantom died, he summoned more. Me and another Red Phantom ended up killing nearly 10 Blues before I just got sick of it and Hp'd
yeah i like the 1 on 1 fights even though i suck. but majority of the time they automatically summon help lol
sometimes someone joins me for the 2v2 which is pretty neat. on the rarer occasion i get a fun multiplayer brawl
