Did him after. Also easy, but I had a friend. Don't think he was as easy as Dancer though.

Er, meant that I downed him in one attempt, not one hit.
Dancer was surprisingly easy when I finally reached that point myself. I tried helping some people with Vordt and would keep being summoned to go fight Dancer so I was getting annihilated at like, SL25 or 30. Eventually got used to dodging but lacked any real damage to help, which evened out a lot once I fought her by myself. Neat fight, I really loved the sound of the footsteps. It's otherworldly and really added to the encounter.
ok i figured that is what you meant but just wanted to make sure lol
Dancer pwned my 3 timesim so nab
I died as a sunbro more times than I care to admit to that fucking grab. Also not helping is that three-hit combo where the first two come in spaced just right to be rolled through and then the third hangs for a second, which ALWAYS hits if you dodged back to back to back. I don't count it as killing her on my first go, because she probably killed my ass a dozen times prior to that.
Got that dub, though, so who cares?
How is the Rapier/Estoc in PVE? Does it rock as it did in DS1/2? I'm on my first playthrough right now and I have a Raw Long Sword +2. Should I stick with the Long Sword, or is a spear or rapier better damage-wise?
Straight Swords (more specifically Dark Blade) are the king in PvE in terms of total damage output. Rapier/Estoc are fine though.
Thanks for the reply. I am looking up dark blade now on the wiki. How is the Great Scythe? It was fun to use with Crystal soul weapon in DS1. The moveset is much different though
I have my Heavy Dark Sword right now only because Refining it won't see an actual increase. Anyone know off-hand what numbers will make it pull ahead? I think I'm 32str/18dex right now and the B/B scaling is a few points behind just sticking with heavy.
Unrelated, I just started throwing lightning bolts last night and it's fucking awesome. I guess just straight Faith improves that damage?
why am i the only mofo that cant get a dark sword to drop
I went to farm it to find that I already had it >.>
...well, with poise broken I guess I have no excuse not to Fashion Souls myself into the wolf armor now, huh?
It's not hard to farm, just use the Farron Perimeter Bonfire. Go along the outer edge killing the ghru (if you're lucky you'll get sword grass) and let the ones along the main path weaken the two darkwraiths. Takes like 2 or so minutes per loop
I've been trying to see if leveling to get FTH to 30 to get the buffs is worth it for my STR build and I'm kind of surprised at how terrible elemental damage is if the mob you're hitting isn't weak to it, the increase in damage is practically non existent, an elemental resin (95 AR for the dark/lightning ones) increases your damage by a whooping 7 ~ 20 per swing, so I'm guessing getting 30 FTH for the buff is pretty stupid as you'll probably get more damage by investing those stats in STR if it's not 60 already.
I'm kind of bummed at how bad the Lothric GS and Lorian's are, even with +100 AR over a pure physical weapon they still do less damage.
I kind of hate how good the dark sword is. I just don't like the swing, but most of all I prefer the roll slash you get out of the regular broadsword lol. too bad it doesn't have scaling as good as dark. any suggestions for something that meets my fancy?
At least for STR weapons, Butcher Knife and Executioner Greatsword are both pretty fucking dope for slightly lighter options. Neither can be infused, but Executioner works amazingly with buffs due to the FP per kill effect.
So, I'm so sick of Pontif arena bitches that I'm not just popping white branches and waiting for the Host to die.
Just finished beating champion gundyr and his sweet chin music again. I honestly think that fight is harder than nameless king. Both are execution heavy fights, but nameless king is a lot slower and more predictable imo.
hmm i never found the executioner. i also don't do any spell casting so that's kind of a thing too, but maybe i will for NG+
