So why are people saying Nameless King is the hardest? Granted I have not seen phase 2 2nd half yet but does he ramp up exponentially? Because the dragon phase and first half of him are kind of a pushover. So far.

Edit: saw all of the fight as a phantom, I'm even more confused. I mean yeah he hurts a lot but isn't really as relentless as Champion or Pontiff at all. Probably the worst part is just depth perception and mainly only in phase 1. I've died a dozen times or so already to 2nd phase but it feels fair. I'm just sucking at getting greedy.

Sounds to me like he's hard enough.

Also he's just as relentless but has a few things that are so much easier to dodge and punish (not counting Pontiff, he's easy as hell to bait and punish). He's also a much longer fight than most bosses and he only gets harder as it goes on.

What people consider the hardest is a bit subjective (level/build/playstyle counts for a lot) but you can generally see what the harder bosses in the game are compared to something like that fucking tree.

probably already been mentioned but if you cannot git gud and just want to cheese a boss, any summonable npc can do it, summon, wait for it to die in boss room, save and quit, summon, invincible npc

I think it's just subjective as far as difficulty goes. I cleared Champ and Nameless on my first tries and entirely blind, but it took me so long to kill Princes I think it made up for it. There are others who had it in reverse. I also had more trouble with Pontiff than I did Aldritch, which seems to be backwards.

My problem with Champ boiled down to the charging and the side kicks ruining my day.

Something about Nameless just clicked very quickly with me. While my final death count was probably approaching 20, I felt every time that it was my fault and never some random bullshit. Abyss was the same; I died a lot but I knew what I was fucking up at so it was no big thing.

On a side note I started not being able to use Halberds anymore on bosses starting with Dancer. Curved and especially Straight swords just so much safer and not even that much of a damage drop. Only time I got use out of it was Nameless first phase. Sellsword dual scimitar things were real nice for a long while.

Got the betrayal ending on pc, must say it was very nice. Just missing the all emotes, all miracles/pyros/sorceries achievement and all rings to get everything on pc. However, started a new character on ps4 cuz i have a few friend who wanted me to join them.

I'm about to go through NG+ and get all the emotes/spells I'm missing, I also want to try a Luck/Bleed build and see how it does in PVP.

I still don't quite know how split damage works, it seems to go through both defenses (which seems to be flat -X damage, then the remaining gets reduced by the absorption %), meaning that if your weapon has less than 120-140 elemental damage, it might as well not be there. Applying a resin to a full physical weapon, the damage increase is practically non-existent, but applying a resin to a weapon that already has elemental damage increases it by 80~ per swing, it's quite noticeable.

Except for weapons that have really high damage numbers to begin with (like the assorted Boss Greataxes), almost all split damage weapons are pretty booty.

For enchants/resins though, Executioner GS is a great weapon to look at. The FP regen will generally make the enchants free if you're killing enough enemies over the duration of the enchant, so even a minimal damage increase is worth it. Plus flaming Executioner GS looks fucking dope.

The katana you get from killing yuria looks so sweet! Transparent katana and adding an element gives you an almost invisible effect.

No idea how, but I've gotten like 5-10 invasions for Watchdogs in the last hour and I'm like SL 115 right now lol

Been pretty fun but I need to work on my Hidden Body Crystal Spear game.

Not only does Darkmoon/Blue Sentinels not work, but it seems like Way of the Blue doesn't do anything either, been invaded three times, last one I hid for like 15 minutes to see if a Darkmoon would show up, nope, two Watchdogs did though. Ether they don't work or nobody wears Way of the Blue or Darkmoon/Sentinels at SL80 bracket.

RNG gonna RNG. I spent the other night with zero drops to show for like two hours of grinding and 140k souls, and then last night I was on voice chat with friends and did all 29 I needed in one session. A couple of hours. Fucking bizarre.

finally beat the game today. also i think i got gud because i beat princes, champ gundyr, nameless king, and lord of cinder each on first try. Dragon Armor took 2 tries

i beat dragonslayer armor in 2 tries but most of those other ones took me several

Dragonslayer armor is iffy since he can straight up one shot you if you screw up.

Granted you hate to really screw up to get hit by those attacks, but the possibility is still there.

Play through 2. I have not died from a boss yet. The only death k has during any boss was during dragonslayer, I rolled off the edge and died

I had literally no problems with Darkmoon at all, the area after Pontiff gave me loads of invasions, plus killing any Aldrich Faithfuls give double concords. I got all 30 done in a few hours.

Started an SL1 run this week. Yhorm's pretty tough when he can kill you with a sneeze. Otherwise it's pretty nice, similar to DS1 SL1, and not hell like DS2. Not looking forward to Pontiff since my parry game is terribad.
