Like didn't we have a whole conversation about why interstellar sucked? Or was that someone else?

    The Martian

Like, I can watch Macross any time I want and not have it have Matthew Mcoughney in it.

Like...if I wanted love transcending time and space...I have japan for that.

I went to interstellar for the science, and it dropped Anne Hathaway being a fucking tropey ass yandere and Matt Damon brawlin' in space in my lap. What do you want me to do with all this shit? Cuz I cant use it to build a good movie!

I think Interstellar was astoundingly "ok"

I watched it once and felt entertained, but have zero desire to ever watch it again.

Oh jeeze all that Interstellar science. 3/4 of the movie was about calling your family on skype from space and crying.

Fuck ya'll, interstellar was dope af, long live the mcconhaissance and Nolan = Goat.

    Gravity was lame.
    Spoiler: show
Sandra Bullock put on a good performance but the script and plot was so boring she couldn't save it. Especially with all that religious allusions and shit about birth at the end. Bitch shoulda died. I was so excited when cloondog came back because it breathed life back into the movie, but nope HALLUCINATIONS.

Memento is my #1 all time favorite. Inception is so godlike. Dark knight trilogy is dope af. Interstellar was dope too, but I agree the ending was kinda shitty (just that he survived), but the interactions it brings up w/ relativity is stuff I never really thought about so that was interesting.

The reason you never thought about it was that most of it is 100% horseshit.

Don't get me wrong, the first half of the movie has a lot of really decent and either spot-on or almost spot-on science. The second half of the movie has almost as much real science as a stargate SG-1 episode.

I don't think the movie has to be grounded in real science for it to be viewed as successful. It IS a movie after all.

    Spoiler: show
But I mean like his depiction of relativity on the water planet for example. The impact when they traveled back to the ship and realize that the black dude had been waiting for 20 years or whatever was quite the unique experience. The impact of this is something I never thought about (seeing people who aged significantly more than) and even if the science is fake, is certainly an interesting plot development or "woah" moment to me. Especially with the idea that the scientist on the planet having JUST landed/died even though its xx years into the future for them. The same thing goes for his coming back and viewing of his daughter aged 80 years or whatever on her death bed. Despite all that time travel and 5th dimension tesseract shit, its such a unique thing I just never thought about.

The other thing was the mental psychosis and motivations of Matt Damon's character.

I agree in general you are right. But when a movie advertises itself as something chock full o' realistic science, then I think it is ok to judge it as such.
