I've mostly converted to just reading manga due to that. It annoys me greatly getting only some of a story animated and maybe ending with some crap anime ending because they don't have enough source material to work with beyond a season or whatever other reason. But yeah, not everything is based off manga and too lazy to read novels/visual novels.

That's fucking great.
Especially the autistic hero and happy ending at all costs (HI CLANNAD).
I'm more amazed, after seeing this chart, that it was true: Maeda actually put baseball in fucking everything.
When's the next Maeda series? I wanna follow it when it comes out and play that bingo because it's hilarious.
Just now got around to watching the last Overlord episode. Fucking almost spit my drink at the line below, so completely out of left field, yet in retrospect, not surprising at all.

Since it finished airing, I'm quickly running through the whole of Gakkou Gurashi.
Finished it up just now and I really enjoyed it; the last three episodes were really intense and I think they played out well. It'd be nice if it got a second season. My only gripe is that best girl was dead from the very beginning; so salty about that.
Just finished Gakkou Gurashi too and I was not ready for the feels trip. Shovel girl was best imo.

Yea, I really like Kurumi too. I'm really curious where they'll go from here. I know there's a manga that I'll probably check out, but I'm curious how far it has advanced from where the anime ends. I'd really like more stories following these four as they escapade across the apocalypse-ridden land.
So I read the available manga chapters and I've noticed some discrepancies, which is normal for an adaption, but there's a pretty big one that worries me.
Spoiler: show
There's also the fact that the magazine that that Gakkou Gurashi is published in is a monthly magazine (versus weekly/bi-weekly), so you're looking at all of twelve chapters per year (for comparison, the current story was about 30 chapters in length, and the manga is up to only Chapter 38, or at least that's all that's currently available for reading).
I honestly didn't think they would be doing a season 2 with that ending.
Nor do I really want any more of that lol. The best thing the show had was the 1st episode plot twist and it never quite surpassed that.
Well the manga is trying to expand upon it; it's showing a bit more of how the outbreak has ravaged the city and just how bleak things look.

So what was worth watching out of the summer? Gangsta and Overlord? Anything else?
Overlord. I can't recommend Gangsta unless they make more. Both of those have more material to do but Gangsta left everything hanging whereas Overlord at least finished the story arc.
Yeah I still haven't watched the last 2 EP of Gangsta and have no plans to do so unless more is made. Overlord was p. good. GATE was really enjoyable and is continuing.
Baby Steps S2 if you haven't watched is better than anything else that aired in the summer as well by leaps and bounds.
Yeah I can't believe I forgot GATE. That was the unexpected hit of the season for me. And theres more to come.
Great, thanks a bunch!
Seconding (thirding?) Overlord and Gate. Overlord was so good I had to read all the light novels afterwards since season 2 is unlikely. It's good shit.
