Summer 2015 Anime Season Thread

You guys know Charlotte is written by Jun maeda, right? Angel beats, clannad, air etc. Imouto is dead lol.

It's unfortunate, but yep; that's how I feel as well.

It had a bit of a slow start, but as soon as it brought up Nao's brother being held in a mental facility, I was reminded that this is first and foremost a Key product, and their prime department of expertise is suckerpunch feels. Now sure, as Elcura pointed out, not every single thing from Key ends on a depressing tone, but there are still a vast majority that do. it's certainly possible that this can still end well, but if the speculation proves true and there is somehow time travel involved, it's going to feel like a pretty big cop-out to me unless it's somehow done extremely well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things pan out.


Switching gears briefly to Gate, I'd like to point out that Rory is pretty fucking top tier, and I hope to see more shenanigans with her.

So Itami in GATE appears like a useless lazy hack at first glance, but

- Permanent financial stability
- Can kill people with his bare hands
- SEAL Team Six tier Special Forces agent
- Not only married someone but somehow managed to get her permanently indebted to him

Alpha as fuck.

Here's hoping Charlotte can turn it around this week. Whereas the last episode of Gate was bitchin and Overlord was decent as well.

Definitely a lot more of an optimistic mood than the last episode. However, this is most likely the calm before the storm.

We meet Sala, the lead vocalist of ZHIEND, and there's a lot more to her than meets the eye (no pun intended). There's some developments with Nao's brother, of which I'm still skeptical about, but I'd like that to not actually be the case in the end. Also it seems the like the good ol' date episode is going to be next with Nao and Yuu going to a ZHIEND concert. I'm very interested in the outcome.


Food for thought; some questions that still haven't been answered:

• Who is the white-haired character that Yuu keeps having dreams of?
• We've not been given actual proof (a body, for example) that Ayumi is dead. Blood on the scene doesn't prove death, just injury.
• Who were the two individuals who showed up prior to Ayumi's death? How did they know something was going to happen?
• The Helper was seen briefly at the end of episode six; what is his involvement in all of this?
• What is the reasoning behind why Nao was assaulted by a school gang?
• What exactly did Sala mean when she said she "bartered" her eyesight away?

I have a feeling most of the answers to these are probably being saved for the climax for the story, but speculation and stuffs.

really hoping they show the fight a little bit after the cemetery fight. The series is 13 episodes so its a possibility of seeing shalltear fighting ainz. They already show her in her battle dress in the intro so its possible. Then again they also show the cocutus vs lizard men scene in the intro also (which is like chapter 5) so.. who knows!

ainz vs shalltear is pretty much the biggest fight though to be seen! Considering how well they animate some stuff, should look epic ~

Well he is the overlord (and mentioned many times Lv100).. and can use tier 10 magic
Considering the levels of magic and how powerful they are and the items he has overall, he's pretty much god mode.
if you've read the manga/lignt novel...

He pretty much has every powerful item, and spell possible. Items that can even change the games functionality, alter the world, raise people from the dead. Tier 10 magic pretty much blows away the landscape and stuff from tier 5-6 -> 10 is worlds apart in the difference in power.If they get to the shalltear fight, you'll see it tier10 magic in action. its probably the only fight he has difficulty with considering shalltear is a Lv100 DPS/Tank while ainz is a Lv100 caster. Although he has PVP experience while npc's don't so...

Overlord is going to get there, there was a scene in the last episode where Ainz answers a call from Nazarick. That's foreshadowing it. Can't possibly imagine they would stop before that.

Well to clarify, I don't mean that I think it's bad that he's the strongest dude in the land, but I do think it'd be stale and awkward if he doesn't have at least one person that can give him a run for his money.
